Job description

Start Your CNC Machining Career or Continue Your Apprenticeship Journey with Elyria Plastic Products!

Elyria Plastic Products is a contract manufacturer specializing in custom injection molding, mold making, and precision machining. For 40 years, weโ€™ve been an industry leader, delivering high-quality, innovative solutions for our customers. More than just plastic parts, we provide full-service mold making and precision machining, backed by a reputation for quality, timeliness, and innovation. At EPP, we value craftsmanship, technology, and peopleโ€”join a team where your work makes a difference.

We are seeking a CNC Machinist Apprentice to join our Toolroom/CNC Department. Whether you are just beginning your journey toward becoming a skilled machinist, looking for an employer sponsor to start your apprenticeship, or are currently enrolled in an apprenticeship program and need a new sponsor, we can help make the transition seamless.

Our apprentices are sponsored through Lorain County Community College (LCCC), and we are committed to investing in your growth with 100% tuition reimbursement. We provide hands-on training and the opportunity to develop valuable machining skills while working alongside experienced machinists.

At EPP, you wonโ€™t spend every day making the same part over and over. As a custom manufacturing company, we produce a wide variety of precision components using different machines, materials, and processes. This means youโ€™ll gain exposure to a broad range of machining techniques and continue building your skills throughout your apprenticeship.

This positionโ€™s standard schedule is Mondayโ€“Friday, 7:00 AMโ€“3:30 PM. We understand that apprenticeship classes are an important part of your development, and we are willing to work with your class schedule to help you successfully balance your education and hands-on training.

Excellent benefit package after 60 days of employment, including 401(k), dental, vision, short-term disability, life insurance, medical insurance with an HSA option, and supplemental insurance. Paid time off and company-paid holidays begin after 90 days of employment.

  • Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and indicators.
  • Perform quality inspections to ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Assist with machine setup, troubleshooting, assembly, and testing.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Work alongside machinists, programmers, engineers, and production team members to build your skills.
Apprenticeship & Training Support
  • Apprentices are sponsored through Lorain County Community College (LCCC).
  • 100% tuition reimbursement provided by the company.
  • Hands-on training and mentorship from experienced machinists.
  • Scheduling to accommodate apprenticeship classes, labs, and coursework.
  • Support available for individuals starting an apprenticeship or transitioning from another employer sponsor.
Qualifications
  • Interest in pursuing a career in CNC machining or manufacturing.
  • Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
  • Enrollment in or acceptance to a CNC machining, manufacturing, or related program at LCCC is preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand basic measurements and instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to read blueprints and perform visual inspections.
Work Environment
