Fuel Distribution: Largest independent fuel distributor in North America. Sunoco LP distributes approximately 9 billion gallons of branded and unbranded fuel annually across more than 40 states and the Caribbean
Pipelines Systems: Network contains approximately 14,000 miles of pipeline transporting refined products, crude oil, and ammonia
Terminals: Owns and operates over 100 terminals throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and Europe

Summary
Sunoco LP is looking for a Pipeline Accounting Senior Manager to join our Operational Accounting team in Dallas. We encourage a culture of inquiry by always asking why, transforming data into meaningful information, and leveraging technology to streamline our processes.
The Pipeline Billing and Revenue Operational Accounting team manages inventory, revenue and costs arising from the transportation of crude and refined products through Sunoco's pipelines and connected terminals. It also supports FERC reporting and Revenue Footnote disclosures, offers internal guidance to Commercial Teams for drafting agreements and evaluating the accounting implications of different actions, and provides external customer support by addressing billing inquiries. The essential duties of this position are designed to ensure that all activities are captured accurately in the general ledger.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
• Lead and coordinate all pipeline accounting activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards and company policies, while providing strategic oversight across related teams and functions.
• Guide, develop, and mentor accounting staff, supervisors, and managers, fostering strong technical competencies, leadership readiness, ownership of results, and a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
• Direct the monthly close process for the Pipeline team-including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and reporting-ensuring cross-team alignment, timely decision-making, and accuracy of information provided to leadership.
• Maintain and oversee robust internal controls and SOX compliance across all assigned processes; partner with audit teams to support testing, documentation, remediation, and cross-departmental control enhancements.
• Review commercial agreements and operational arrangements to determine proper accounting treatment, providing guidance on ASC 606, ASC 842, and other technical considerations while mentoring others through complex assessments.
• Identify and drive opportunities to streamline procedures, enhance data quality, implement automation, and improve end-to-end pipeline accounting workflows, ensuring solutions are scalable and aligned with organizational strategy.
• Investigate and resolve complex accounting, system, or operational issues; synthesize risks and implications across teams; and communicate recommended actions to senior leadership with clarity and strategic insight.
• Partner with Operations, Commercial, Legal, FP&A, and IT on major business initiatives, system enhancements, integrations, and executive-sponsored projects, ensuring cross-functional alignment and effective execution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required
  • Experience: 10+ years' experience required, oil and gas industry preferred
  • Required Skills: In-depth knowledge of ASC 606, and proficiency in Excel required
  • Technical Skills: Experience with SAP, Synthesis, or TopTech a plus
  • Preferred qualifications: CPA Strongly preferred
