The Opportunity:

The Specialist, Corporate Compliance supports the Office of Ethics and Compliance across the broader Sunoco Partnership, including Energy Transfer and affiliated entities. This position is primarily responsible for supporting Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance activities, including risk assessments, control testing and monitoring, control evaluations and remediation tracking.  

The Specialist will also contribute to other Ethics & Compliance initiatives, including privacy compliance, ethics hotline investigations, and training and awareness support.  

Responsibilities:

  • Support the broader Ethics and Compliance team across Sunoco, Energy Transfer, and affiliated entities. 
  • Support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance programs, processes and controls.
  • Conduct compliance risk assessments, process walkthroughs, testing, and monitoring activities to identify compliance risks and evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of key controls.  
  • Document findings and recommendations from compliance reviews and work with business stakeholders to track and support remediation of identified issues.
  • Support investigations involving potential violations of company policies, the Code of Conduct, regulatory requirements, or other compliance concerns.
  • Support privacy compliance initiatives, including policy implementation, risk assessments, data privacy impact assessments, and responses to privacy-related inquiries.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, metrics, and dashboards for management.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Legal, Human Resources, Information Technology, Finance, Internal Audit, and other stakeholders to strengthen compliance processes and controls.
  • Support internal audit activities and contribute to special projects and other ad hoc initiatives as required.  
  • Stay informed of evolving regulatory requirements, industry trends, and compliance best practices. 

Education:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Possession of a relevant professional designation (e.g., CPA, CIA, CISA, CRMA) is considered a strong asset.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of experience in internal or external audit, compliance, internal controls, risk management, or a related field.
  • Experience conducting control testing, process walkthroughs, and documenting business processes, risks and controls.  
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles, internal controls, and remediation processes.  
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop practical recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively and engage stakeholders across all organizational levels.  
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.  
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams. Experience with SAP is considered an asset.  
  • Audit and controls experience is considered an asset.
