Job description

About this Job Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Technician 1-2 to join our team. We are a 24-bed acute care critical access hospital serving the Florida Parishes region of Southeast Louisiana. We offer a wide range of services, including general surgery and a 24-hour emergency department.

At Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center, we are able to bring you a wide range of services close to home, provided by a network of board certified physicians. GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The incumbent in this position will assist the nursing/medical staff by providing skilled technical assistance during major/minor diagnostic and/or surgical procedures at LSU Health- Lallie Kemp Medical Center in the Operating Room. The work schedule will be determined by the Department Manager.

Minimum Qualifications One year of experience as a surgical technician; OR An associate's degree in surgical technology. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: Prepare operating rooms by setting up instruments, supplies, and equipment for each procedure. Assist with patient preparation and positioning before surgery.

Maintain aseptic technique and support the surgical team during procedures. Handle and track instruments, needles, and sponges according to safety standards. Clean, decontaminate, and sterilize instruments and equipment after procedures.

Restock supplies and report equipment needing repair or replacement. Assist with training new staff and supporting quality improvement activities. Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment.

Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Surgical Technician 1 or 2, depending on the applicant's qualifications. Work Location: This position is located in the Operating Room. Work Hours: Shift will be determined by the department Manager.

Compensation: In addition to base pay, compensation consist of Shift Differential pay as well as compensation for being part of an On-Call schedule.
