Job Duties:
Maintain, organize, and update all required law library materials, including books, statutes, case reporters, digests, forms, and electronic resources.
Ensure inmates have timely access to legal research materials in accordance with Access to Courts standards and unit security procedures.
Assist inmates in locating legal resources without providing legal advice.
Manage inventory, track usage, and maintain logs related to law library access and materials.
Process all inmate legal research requests, including photocopies or printed materials, following policy.
Maintain accurate documentation such as signin sheets, research logs, and grievance responses related to Access to Courts.
Coordinate with security staff to safely operate the law library and maintain compliance with scheduling requirements.
Coordinate and facilitate virtual court hearings, ensuring proper scheduling, equipment readiness, offender movement, and documentation.
Process, schedule, and monitor attorney telephone calls, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with legal standards.
Facilitate attorney visits and attorney representative visits, including verification of credentials, scheduling, and record¿keeping.
Process indigent inmate requests for legal supplies, correspondence materials, and other Access to Courts'related items, ensuring proper eligibility review and timely distribution.
Maintain logs and documentation for indigent requests, legal mail submissions, and correspondence supplies issued.
