Job description

**About the Role**Uber is home to one of the largest and most unique Claims programs in the world. As our Claims Compliance Manager, you will own the internal quality framework for First-Notice-of-Loss (FNOL), steward the end-to-end Claims SOX control environment, and hold external carrier partners accountable to our standards. You'll serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external auditors, translating regulatory and SOX requirements into day-to-day operational excellence across hundreds of claims professionals.

This role has a unique opportunity to impact the effectiveness of hundreds of internal & external claims professionals - if you're interested in making an outsized impact on one of the largest and most dynamic Claims programs in the world, read on and apply below!**What You'll Do**- Lead and develop a team of in-house claims quality & compliance professionals- Design, test, and continuously improve QA methodologies, scorecards, and root-cause analysis for FNOL quality issues- Build and maintain control matrices, narratives, and evidence repositories; prepare walkthroughs and remediation plans; drive timely control testing and deficiency closure.- Represent Claims in SOX, statutory, and carrier audits; articulate control design and operating effectiveness to Financial Risk management and auditors; developing responses to ad hoc audit requests and inquiries- Provide input on compliance control design and adequacy- Partner with internal & external operational leaders to identify opportunities to improve processes, training programs, and compliance adherence- Work cross-functionally to embed compliance requirements into workflow design, tooling, and training- Collaborate with internal and external Claims leadership, audit, accounting and risk management stakeholders to establish robust compliance controls- Lead efforts for QA calibration cross-functionally, ensuring consistent standards are developed and applied across the Claims program**Basic Qualifications**- 5+ years of professional experience in claims or risk operations, including at least 3 years dedicated to audit, SOX, or regulatory compliance within a P&C or gig-economy claims environment.- Bachelor's degree in related field**Preferred Qualifications**- Strong project management skills, able to manage competing priorities, and ability to own and drive projects from ideation to completion- Strong business acumen- 3+ years people management experience- Excellent cross-functional partnership skills- Exceptional communication skills (verbal & written) and comfort presenting to senior leadership and auditors- AIC, SCLA, or CPCU designations- Auto insurance claims handling/management experience- Prior Big 4 or large public-company SOX audit exposure- Experience managing third-party administrators or carrier partnersUber's mission is to reimagine the way the world moves for the better.
