Key responsibilities
Support business units in developing, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules based on project data, milestones, and execution strategies.
Assist in establishing and reinforcing schedule update routines, critical path analysis, and schedule risk assessments to ensure accurate project tracking and performance insights.
Facilitate training and coaching on scheduling tools, standards, and workflows to build scheduling capability and promote consistent practices across teams.
Job description
Serving as a scheduling subject matter expert, facilitator, and adoption resource, the Lead supports business units in strengthening scheduling capability while helping develop, refine, and implement core scheduling processes, standards, and systems. The role is intended to enable consistency and practical application across the company, not replace project ownership or act as the primary schedule-building resource for project teams. Success in this role comes from helping teams understand what good looks like, supporting scalable process adoption, and ensuring tools and workflows are practical for real project execution.

Department: National Operational Services (NOS)
Location: Calgary, ABWhat You Will Be Working On

- Support project teams in developing the work breakdown structure and using project coding effectively across scheduling, progress measurement, reporting, cost integration, and other project applications.
- Support the development of practical guidance for using drawings, specifications, contract requirements, construction sequencing, subcontractor inputs, and execution strategy to structure clear, logic-driven, and usable project schedules.
- Support regional teams with pursuit and startup schedule strategies by providing guidance on high-level phasing, sequencing, milestone planning, schedule risk, resource assumptions, productivity considerations, and execution approach where required.
Schedule Management, Progress Visibility & Performance Insight
- Support business units in establishing effective schedule update routines, including validating field progress, assessing effort expended, updating progress, and maintaining current schedule information.
- Help develop and reinforce consistent approaches to critical path analysis, schedule trend analysis, schedule risk assessment, and variance analysis so teams can identify key project issues and determine practical corrective actions.
- Support processes that help business units coordinate schedule inputs from Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, self-perform teams, functional groups, and leadership so schedule information remains accurate, timely, and useful.
- Develop practical guidance and support materials that help Project Managers communicate schedule status, constraints, risks, recovery options, and impacts of change to clients, internal leaders, and project stakeholders.
- Support teams in measuring progress and reviewing subcontractor schedule status, helping Project Managers and senior management understand subcontractor performance, schedule drivers, and areas requiring attention.
- Support the development and adoption of standardized schedule reports, lookaheads, progress curves, commodity progress, manpower analysis, productivity summaries, and schedule performance updates that meet business unit and leadership needs.
- Participate in or support planning and scheduling review forums where required, helping reinforce clear deadlines, actions, follow-up requirements, and schedule commitments.

- Serve as a national resource for scheduling tool use, coding structures, progress update routines, data discipline, and schedule reporting workflows across applicable projects.
- Support business units in integrating InEight, Primavera P6, MS Project, and supporting tools into schedule development, updates, reporting, and project execution routines.
- Identify gaps in schedule quality, schedule logic, data integrity, tool usage, resource planning, progress measurement, and reporting consistency, and support improvements that strengthen schedule confidence.
- Support teams in reducing reliance on non-standard tools, spreadsheets, or side systems by helping transition planning, scheduling, progress tracking, and reporting work into enterprise solutions where practical.
Company-Wide Standardization & Process Discipline
- Support standardization of company-wide processes, tools, and systems across Industrial, Buildings, and Infrastructure while recognizing where sector-specific delivery models, contract structures, and execution requirements need to be reflected.
- Collaborate across sectors, regions, and business units to define scalable scheduling approaches that support enterprise objectives.
- Ensure future-state processes, structures, and workflows are practical, adoptable, and aligned with how projects are executed.
