Job Type: Full-Time Permanent

Pay: $71,070 per annum + Benefits

Please note that this position rotates between cycles of dayshifts & overnights, 12 hour shifts.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Program Manager to join our Outreach program. This role is responsible for program development, service delivery, program evaluations, reporting, and the allocation of staff and financial resources. Program Managers are expected to manage crises, provide critical incident debriefing, and oversee staff performance management. In this role, your responsibilities would include:

  • Leading by example and ensuring staff provide caring, non judgmental client service within our Outreach program
  • Supervising, coaching, mentoring, and performance managing staff, including discipline when required
  • Leading recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and probation reviews
  • Ensuring adequate shift coverage, approving time off, and supporting payroll accuracy
  • Responding to crises such as overdoses, seizures, deaths, and other incidents
  • Supporting staff and clients through debriefings and follow up
  • Ensuring compliance with safety protocols, accreditation standards, and program audits
  • Resolving client, staff, and workplace concerns in collaboration with leadership and HR
  • Building positive relationships with agencies, community partners, businesses, and stakeholders
  • Overseeing accurate reporting, statistics, and documentation for funding outcomes
  • Managing budgets and ensuring programs have required supplies and resources
  • Providing direct service support when operationally required
  • Participating in management meetings, labour relations discussions, and program check ins

About You

We are looking for an experienced leader to join our team at Alpha House. The ideal candidate would have the following:

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant Human Services field from a public institution (minimum 2-year diploma or degree)
  • Several years of experience working with vulnerable populations, including front-line experience
  • Strong understanding of addiction, harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and recovery-oriented practices
  • Proven leadership experience, including coaching, training, and performance management
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders
  • Sound judgment, professionalism, and the ability to handle sensitive situations with confidentiality and diplomacy
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and adapt in a dynamic environment
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • A strong understanding of and commitment to Alpha House’s mission
  • Three years of driving experience, a valid Class 5 non GDL driver’s licence, a clear abstract, and ability to obtain Class 4 within 60 days
  • Comfortable driving an agency van
  • Comfortable working in environments with risk of violence and exposure to bodily fluids
  • Physically able to assist clients with mobility needs
  • Vulnerable Sector Search valid within the last six months with no results material to the role
  • Ability to complete “It’s Your Move” training or equivalent patient lift training and Privacy Training
  • Understanding of the Protection of Persons in Care Act
