Chipton-Ross is seeking a Program Manager for a permanent on site position in Wichita, KS.
OBJECTIVE
Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs/projects or subsystems of major programs/projects. Directs all phases of programs/projects from inception through completion. Participate in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. Coordinate the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customers to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Establish design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test. Develop new businesses or expand the product lines with the customers. Establish milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Directs the work of employees assigned to the program/project from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.
SPECIAL WORK CONDITIONS AND AMERICANS WITH DISABILITY REQUIREMENTS
  • Lifting up to 50 lb. without assistance and over 50 lb. with assistance
  • Exposure to general shop conditions, including machine noise and metal dust
  • Repetitive use of hands, wrists and arms due to computer usage

Typical Job Requirements
  • Review purchase orders and participate in negotiations of contracts or contract changes
  • Coordinates preparation of and monitors program milestone schedules, operating budgets and contract financial terms and conditions
  • Acts as the primary customer contact for program activities
  • Leads program review meetings with Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Planner, Buyers, Production and Quality to internally discuss cost, schedule and technical performance
  • Responsible for communicating with the customer regarding schedules and technical performance
  • Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions
  • In charge of completing monthly actual cost to budgeted cost reports to monitor profitability and quickly identify off plan costs and conditions which need to be addressed
  • Responsible for developing new business and expansion opportunities within assigned customer accounts and programs

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in business or finance related field highly desirable but not required
  • 3-5 years-experience in manufacturing environment as program manager or similar role
  • Understanding of ERP systems
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.)
