Job Title: Director, Portfolio & Technical Program Management

About the Role

The Director of Portfolio & Technical Program Management (TPM) will lead enterprise-scale portfolio governance and execution across one or more product & engineering sub-pillars in Digital Enterprise Technology’s (DET) Salesforce on Salesforce (SFonSF) organization. This leader will drive strategic alignment, execution rigor, and operational excellence across complex, multi-cloud programs—particularly across platform, AI, Agents, and enterprise transformation initiatives.

You will oversee a high-performing organization of Technical Program Managers responsible for delivering large, cross-functional initiatives spanning products such as Quote to Cash, Orders, Entitlements, Provisioning, and AI/Agent-driven capabilities. This role requires deep expertise in scaling SaaS platforms, leading through influence, and building world-class program management disciplines in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.

Your Impact - ResponsibilitiesPortfolio Strategy & Governance
  • Define and operationalize portfolio management frameworks that align investments to Salesforce’s highest value strategic priorities.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Executive leadership to prioritize initiatives, manage capacity, and optimize ROI.
  • Establish portfolio health metrics, OKRs, risk frameworks, and executive reporting mechanisms.
  • Lead quarterly and annual planning cycles across multiple product portfolios.
Technical Program Leadership
  • Drive execution of large-scale, cross-cloud technical programs including AI platform capabilities, infrastructure modernization, and platform scalability initiatives.
  • Ensure technical alignment across architecture, security, reliability, compliance, and data governance.
  • Proactively identify dependencies, risks, and systemic execution bottlenecks across global teams.
Team Leadership & Culture
  • Lead a team of TPMs. Multiply talent: Actively mentor and develop leaders in your organization.
  • Build, mentor, and scale a best-in-class TPM organization. Including multiple direct reports of TPMs.
  • Create clear career paths, conduct regular coaching, and manage performance aligned to Salesforce high standards of performance and delivery.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, collaboration, and operational excellence.
Executive Partnership
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Sr. Director, VP, and SVP stakeholders internal to SFonSF Technology and across our business teams of stakeholders.
  • Drive data-driven executive decision-making through clear dashboards and portfolio analytics.
  • Lead executive-level reviews, including program core team cadences and executive steering committees.
Operational Excellence
  • Champion standardized program management and work management tooling, governance, and best practices across global teams.
  • Champion scalable Agile, SAFe, and hybrid delivery models appropriate for enterprise SaaS delivery.
  • Improve predictability, time-to-deliver, and cross-domain functional outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of program management experience with a proven track record of delivering business value.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience in technical leadership
