Job Description

Reporting to the Global Director for Cloud & Data Centre Services, you will be helping keep Olympus cloud and on-premises data centre services secure, reliable, cost-effective, and aligned to our global strategy, architecture, security and governance standards. 

Day to day you will design, implement, maintain and optimise compute, storage, networking and platform services, acting as subject-matter expert across our hybrid cloud environment.  

That spans migrations, automation, capacity planning, performance and cost optimisation, alongside incident, problem, change and request management. 

You will work closely with service owners, service managers, provider managers, regional delivery leads, as well as other IT functions and external partners.

Job Duties

Run the hybrid environment

  • Support the delivery, configuration and ongoing operation of a hybrid environment that integrates on-premises data centre infrastructure with public cloud services such as Azure and AWS, in line with global architecture, security and governance standards
  • Manage compute, storage, networking, security groups and resource configurations across cloud and on-premises platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, SAN/NAS), including hybrid connectivity (VPN, ExpressRoute, SD-WAN), hybrid identity and hybrid management tooling (Azure Arc, VMware Cloud, monitoring platforms)
  • Monitor health, performance and utilisation across compute, storage, backup and network systems, coordinate upgrades, patching, firmware updates and lifecycle refresh, and implement and monitor approved changes in line with security and compliance requirements

Modernise and improve

  • Contribute to infrastructure modernisation initiatives, including cloud migrations, data centre consolidation, platform refresh cycles and hybrid cloud implementations, in support of the global roadmap
  • Partner with architects and engineering teams to validate solution designs, then support testing, pilot deployments and transition into stable operation
  • Take part in automation and orchestration initiatives that reduce manual effort and improve consistency across hybrid environments

Security, governance and cost

  • Apply global governance frameworks, security baselines and configuration standards consistently across cloud and on-premises platforms
  • Support security assessments, vulnerability remediation, patch compliance tracking and infrastructure hardening, working with Security GRC on identity, access controls, logging and audit readiness
  • Understand cloud cost drivers and carry out cost analysis and optimisation

Work across regions and partners

  • Collaborate with regional IT teams, application owners and service managers to understand requirements and deliver services that meet business needs while staying aligned to global standards, and coordinate global managed service providers, cloud vendors and data centre partners to resolve complex issues
  • Explain technical topics clearly to stakeholders with varying levels of technical knowledge, and provide insight into performance, risks and opportunities to support planning and decision-making
Job Requirements

Must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
    (Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.)
  •  Experience in working with cloud technologies and on-premise data center environments, including delivery, operations and contributing to cloud and data centre roadmaps.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting on premise data center services, including server hardware, virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware vSphere, Hyper V), storage (SAN/NAS), networking components, backup systems, and monitoring tools.
  • Strong understanding of hybrid infrastructure, including how cloud and on prem systems integrate (networking, identity, monitoring, backup, and security).
  • Experience in cloud and data center migration projects, hardware lifecycle activities, platform refreshes, and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
  • Experience working with global or outsourced service providers, including coordinating delivery and holding vendors to agreed service levels.
  • Experience delivering complex global infrastructure projects in a multinational environment.
  • Solid cloud operations experience — Azure at minimum; AWS/GCP/OCI as a plus
  • Understanding of governance, security, cost control, tagging/CMDB/service management concepts.
  • Structured follow-up and ownership mindset
  • Comfortable with tools/processes such as ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, reporting/KPIs, and vendor coordination
  • Ability to work globally and independently
  • Willingness to travel internationally, approximately 10–15%
  • Fluent English, written and spoken (working language of the global team) 

Nice to have:

  • Certification as an MS Azure or AWS Solutions Architect and/or other Cloud Security Certifications
  •  Multi-cloud experience
  • FinOps experience or cloud cost governance exposure 
  • Automation/IaC knowledge  (Terraform, Bicep, ARM, Ansible or similar) 
  • Experience with cloud security platforms or CSPM/CNAPP concepts
  •  Experience in global enterprise environments
  • Knowledge of ITIL/service management
