Job description

Job Overview

This position is responsible for the safe handling, movement, and management of gas cylinders in an outdoor storage yard environment. The role involves operating a forklift in all weather conditions, loading and unloading trucks, receiving and inspecting incoming cylinders, accurately pulling cylinders for outbound orders, and maintaining a clean, compliant, and well-organized yard.

This is a hands-on, physical role that requires strong safety awareness, attention to detail, and the ability to work productively with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities
  • Operate a forklift outdoors in all weather conditions

  • Load and unload trucks with gas cylinders

  • Receive incoming cylinders and verify quantities, condition, labeling, and compliance

  • Inspect cylinders for accuracy, damage, and regulatory requirements

  • Sort, store, and stage cylinders in designated locations

  • Accurately pull cylinders for outbound orders and prepare for shipment

  • Assist with cylinder inventory control and cycle counts

  • Move, organize, and rotate cylinder inventory as required

  • Maintain yard cleanliness, organization, and housekeeping standards

  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and compliance requirements

  • Work cooperatively with drivers, sales, and operations staff

  • Perform duties independently while meeting productivity and accuracy expectations

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Forklift experience required

  • Experience working outdoors or in a yard / industrial environment preferred

  • Prior experience handling cylinders or regulated materials is a plus

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety

  • Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, moving, and positioning cylinders

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
