Do you enjoy working outdoors, operating machinery, and being part of a solid team? American Fence Company is looking for a hardworking, dependable and detail-oriented Yard Operations & Inventory Specialist to join our Des Moines team in the materials yard.
Our Inventory Specialists operate heavy equipmentto load, unload, and organize building materials for wholesale orders and distribution for company jobs, assist with inventory, and attend to customers and company staff in yard operations, all while maintaining a safe and tidy working environment. This is a full-time position that works year-round. The ideal candidate has forklift and skid steer experience.* Must pass criminal background check and drug screen, if offered the position.*
Responsibilities
  • Safely operate forklifts and skid steers, load and unload trucks with fencing materials.
  • Maintain yard to ensure proper storage and organization.
  • Attend to company staff and customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Assist with inventory counts and materials tracking.
  • Perform general yard maintenance, including cleanup and minor repairs.
  • Help with deliveries or other tasks as needed.

Requirements
Qualifications
  • Experience operating a forklift and skid steer
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
