Automotive Lot Attendant / Detail Technician – McGrath Chevyland

Location: Cedar Rapids, IA
Schedule: Full-Time

About the Opportunity

McGrath Chevyland is seeking a motivated and dependable Automotive Lot Attendant / Detail Technician to join our high-energy team. This hybrid role combines vehicle detailing with lot operations, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys staying active, working outdoors, and taking pride in presenting vehicles at their best.

You will play a key role in maintaining the appearance of our inventory, supporting dealership operations, and ensuring vehicles are customer-ready. This position offers valuable exposure to multiple areas of the dealership and provides opportunities for long-term career growth within the McGrath Family of Dealerships.

Requirements

• Strong attention to detail and pride in high-quality workmanship
• Ability to follow direction and work efficiently in a structured process
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Reliable, team-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to safely operate and move a variety of vehicles
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (must be 18+)

What You'll Do

• Clean and detail vehicle exteriors, including washing, waxing, buffing, and polishing
• Perform full interior cleanings, including vacuuming, scrubbing, stain removal, and window cleaning
• Ensure wheels, tires, and engine compartments meet quality standards
• Move, stage, and organize inventory throughout the dealership lot
• Assist with vehicle deliveries, dealer trades, and vehicle transportation as needed
• Maintain lot appearance, vehicle presentation, and overall dealership cleanliness
• Use approved cleaning products and equipment safely and effectively
• Work collaboratively with the detail, sales, and service teams to ensure vehicles are lot-ready and customer-ready
