Position Specific Description
The Manager Strategic Initiatives role involves working as a core team member of the corporate strategic projects group. Projects focus on solving complex problems and improving operating performance across a range of business areas, from renewable energy (wind, solar, and battery) to corporate support functions. The strategic projects group works as an internal consulting organization. The team works on high-visibility, high-impact topics across both NextEra Energy Resources, the #1 renewable developer in the US, and Florida Power & Light, one of the nation's best-run vertically integrated utilities. Project timelines typically run 2 - 6 months. We partner with senior executives to identify and solve key business challenges, conduct analysis, define solutions, and help prepare the business to implement. This role will use management consulting skills to work with internal clients and external partners throughout all stages of strategy engagements. The strategic projects group is a key talent pipeline for NextEra Energy as a whole, and high-performing members of the team frequently continue on to key roles in various business units.
The core duties of this role involve:
• Quickly understands business unit operating models and issues
• Supervises 2 to 3-person project teams
• Develops hypothesis and solutions grounded in solid data analysis
• Works collaboratively with business leaders and operators to guide and influence outcomes
• Prepares and communicates recommendations through PowerPoint to NextEra executives

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provides thought leadership and execution support on client assignments to craft strategy
  • Conducts both client and market development to grow the business
  • Consults with clients to identify, clarify, and solve problems critical to clients' strategy and operating success
  • Develops conclusions and recommendations, writes reports, assists in client presentations and provides implementation assistance as required
  • Constructs the analytical framework and work steps for each assignment, and leads the problem solving process associated
