Job description

Who We Are
Verkada is transforming how organizations protect their people and places with an integrated, privacy-sensitive AI-powered platform that includes solutions for video security, access control, air quality sensors, alarms, intercoms, and visitor management.
We've got serious momentum in the market: more than 30,000 customers (including 100+ of the Fortune 500), a $5.8B valuation, more than $1 billion in annualized bookings, and backing from CapitalG, Sequoia Capital, General Catalyst, Felicis Ventures, Next47 and more. Physical AI is one of the most consequential technology shifts of our time, and Verkada is at the center of it.
You can look at all kinds of communities to see our platform's impact in the world. It's the retailer that uses our agentic AI to deter theft before it happens. The warehouse that uses AI-powered alerts to make sure its team is protected on the floor with proper PPE. The school that's alerted to a threat in real-time and triggers a lockdown in seconds, not minutes. We're rapidly scaling this impact: today, more than 2 million Verkada devices are deployed across 170+ countries.
About the Role
At Verkada, recruiting is one of our greatest competitive advantages. As we continue to scale globally, we're looking for a Head of Recruiting Operations to build the systems, processes, and operating model that enable us to hire exceptional talent at scale.
Reporting directly to the VP of Sales Strategy & Operations, you'll lead the teams responsible for scaling Verkada's recruiting function and organization, including Recruiting Operations, Recruiting Coordinators, Recruiting Enablement, Recruiting Systems & Tools, and our Embedded Recruiting Strategy function.
Unlike traditional recruiting organizations, Verkada operates a decentralized recruiting model where recruiting teams are embedded within the business functions they support. You'll establish the operating model, governance, and shared ways of working that enable those teams to operate as one high-performing recruiting organization while partnering closely with Recruiting Leadership, Finance, People, and business leaders to drive hiring excellence across the company.
This is a highly visible leadership role at the intersection of recruiting operations, analytics, systems, and business strategy. You'll improve how we hire by building scalable recruiting programs, leveraging data to inform decisions, and creating the operational foundation that supports Verkada's continued growth.
We are committed to a thriving in-office culture. This role is based in our San Mateo headquarters and requires working onsite.
What You'll Do
  • Define and execute Verkada's Recruiting Strategy & Operations roadmap, building the operating model, governance, and processes that enable our recruiting organization to scale effectively.
  • Own the end-to-end recruiting operating model across Recruiting Operations, Embedded Recruiting Strategy, Recruiting Enablement, Recruiting Coordinators, and Recruiting Systems, ensuring consistent execution, accountability, and service delivery.
  • Build and continuously improve recruiting programs, interview processes, and operational workflows that create a consistent experience for recruiters, hiring managers, interviewers, and candidates.
  • Establish operational rigor through standardized recruiting processes, documentation, change management, and consistent execution across the recruiting organization.
  • Own executive recruiting dashboards and KPIs, delivering actionable insights on hiring performance, recruiter productivity, funnel health, quality of hire, capacity planning, and recruiting effectiveness.
  • Partner with Finance and business leaders to operationalize hiring plans through recruiting capacity planning, forecasting, and resource allocation.
  • Lead executive recruiting reviews, presenting hiring performance, organizational insights, and data-driven recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Evaluate, implement, and optimize recruiting technologies while ensuring strong systems governance, data integrity, workflow automation, and AI-enabled recruiting processes.
  • Own and continuously evolve Verkada's Quality of Hire framework, ensuring consistent adoption of structured interviewing, the Sales Performance Record (SPR), and post-hire hiring quality reviews across the recruiting organization.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Recruiting Leadership, Finance, Sales Strategy & Operations, Global People Operations, and Engineering to drive operational excellence across the recruiting organization.
  • Develop and coach a high-performing team while fostering a culture of analytical thinking, accountability, continuous improvement, and exceptional partnership.
What You Bring
  • 10+ years of experience leading Recruiting Operations, Recruiting Strategy, Talent Operations, or a related function within a high-growth organization.
  • Experience building and scaling Recruiting Operations functions with deep expertise in recruiting workflows, interview process design, operating models, governance, recruiting systems, capacity planning, and quality of hire.
  • Experience leading Recruiting Operations, Program Management, or Strategy teams while developing high-performing managers and individual contributors.
  • Proven success implementing scalable recruiting processes that improve recruiter effectiveness, hiring manager experience, candidate experience, and operational consistency.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience building executive dashboards, translating recruiting data into business insights, and influencing organizational decisions.
  • Experience implementing and optimizing ATS and recruiting technologies (e.g., Greenhouse, Workday), including automation and AI-enabled workflows.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence leaders across Recruiting, Finance, People, and the business.
  • A builder's mindset-you thrive in ambiguity, enjoy solving complex operational challenges, and continuously improve how organizations hire.
