Job description

Position Objective: The Program Manager is responsible for supporting and contributing to the growth of the Company’s business through building and maintaining relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers and helping establish new contracts for the use of the Company’s services. The Program Manager also acts as a liaison between pharmaceutical manufacturer clients and the internal leadership team for applicable programs, from implementation to the continuation of program services.

Accountability: The incumbent will report to the Director(s) of Operations and Performance.

Essential Functions:

  • Facilitate the development of relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers through strategic interaction with upper management and key decision-makers.
  • Coordinate with clients to ensure the delivery of mutually beneficial services.
  • Support the creation and implementation of business development strategies for healthcare hub services programs.
  • Represent clients internally and coordinate with other departments to implement client systems, complete projects, and address ongoing service needs.
  • Support regional and national accounts with exceptional customer service.
  • Act as a dedicated resource for large or complex accounts.Serves as a primary contact for inbound calls, answers inquiries regarding submitted cases, follow-ups and other case related issues, assisting the MDOs.
  • Produce marketing presentations to maximize interest in program services.
  • Assist in growing existing assigned business contracts.
  • Maintains the business rules document and ensures that all program staff are trained to meet the requirements.
  • Assures that the program and program staff are meeting key SLAs as dictated by business rules.
  • Support the implementation of launches and processes for new programs and services.
  • Communicate with pharmaceutical manufacturer clients and their sales representatives as needed.
  • Coordinate and participate in conference calls with manufacturer partners.
  • Travel for client meetings, business, or industry events on an occasional basis.
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in program services and guidelines.
  • Pursue continuing education programs appropriate to job responsibilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director(s) of Operations and Performance.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Business or Healthcare Management, preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in healthcare management and leadership, required.
  • 3-5 years' experience in the medical/healthcare or insurance field (i.e. hub services, pharmacy, doctor's office, hospital administration, health plan member services, etc.), required.
  • 3-5 years’ experience with a successful track record in a prior sales, account management, business development, and/or contracting role, preferred.Excellent verbal/written communication skills, self-discipline, and attention to detail.
  • Sales, marketing, and/or account management experience for a healthcare hub services, specialty pharmacy or specialty pharmaceutical manufacturer, preferred.
  • Experience selling to key decision makers- C Level and Director Level, a plus.
  • Contracting and negotiation experience, with understanding of the pharmaceutical manufacturer world, preferred.
  • Strategic and tactical ability, able to help develop and execute business plans.
  • Strong project management background.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, plus highly effective presentation skills.
  • Superior level of customer service, interpersonal skills, and highly effective in working objectively with a diverse group of people.
  • Understanding of program operations and interdepartmental functions.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, self-discipline, and attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills, and the ability to learn existing and new program software systems.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and provide practical solutions.
  • Must be a team player willing to accept organizational and team goals, and function with minimal supervision.

  • Maintain HIPAA patient confidentiality, as well as discretion regarding proprietary company information.
