Job Summary
The Risk and Business Analytics Supervisor is responsible for the generation of actionable insights by analyzing data, the use of storytelling to make well informed data-driven decisions. This role requires a strong knowledge of data mining, data interpretation, analysis, report generation, and database design for crafting technical insight solutions to address complex business needs. Also, in-depth technical knowledge, leadership capabilities, and communication skills are required.
This role is expected to work effectively with information digital solutions, stakeholders, and vendors to help formulate strategies to support the Company's strategic vision by maximizing revenue retention while reducing risk. All solutions must meet Toyota's technology standards.
This role collaborates closely with other Managers and stakeholders to formulate strategies and sequencing to maximize revenue/retention and minimize risk. The Risk and Business Analytics Supervisor will partner with Enterprise DnA and Partners/Suppliers for end-to-end solutions and transformation. The Risk and Business Analytics Supervisor will synthesize requirements information from the business and develop comprehensive insight architecture design and visual artifacts that constitute the blueprint for the solution, while taking the future insight roadmap, growth, and flexibility into consideration.
Primary Job Accountabilities
Data Management: Extraction, Analysis, and Reporting
  • Data extraction and data analysis from internal and external systems.
  • Partner with the business to capture data and reporting needs to address business needs.
  • Expertise in SQL and querying other related databases to acquire the necessary data for analysis.
  • Use SQL, Python, and other relevant programming languages for data modeling.
  • Develop, manage, and communicate data analysis and reports.
  • Maintain and manage process documentation and reports within Power BI.
  • Perform proof of concept development for reports and other business solutions.
  • Support the Company's vision for cloud-based data and reporting strategy.
  • Oversee the development of all reports (dashboards, views), from discovery through implementation, and ensure alignment with BI data and reporting governance practices.
  • Organize and facilitate project status meetings with business units and project teams to identify and resolve issues and mitigate risks.

Business Support:
  • Develop strong relations across the business with functional departments such as: Sales, Marketing, Dealer Servicing, IT, Compliance, Finance, etc.
  • Lead the business requirements/user stories gathering sessions with stakeholders and IT support to understand the business requirements to develop any strategic projects and/or initiatives.
  • Ensure business needs and requirements are clearly understood, documented, and communicated. Translate the business and user requirements into system requirements.
  • Leverage in-depth understanding of business and system processes to propose data solutions aligned with business needs.
  • Analyze programming requirements using business knowledge, subject matter expert (SME), programing language, and computer capabilities.
  • Develop new tools to support operational automation of current manual processes.
  • Apply problem-solving, quantitative, analytical skills, and statistical methods to uncover insights buried in the data.
  • Evaluate quantitative and qualitative impacts of possible actions based on insight, considering customers, employees, and the company.
  • Support data steward.

Risk Management:
  • Deliver reports for the Enterprise Risk Management Committee (ERMC) including analysis and recommendations.
  • Continuous monitoring of Key Risk Indicators (KRI's).
  • Co-responsible for the CEO Risk Scorecard fiscal year assigned goals achievement.
  • Develop and enhance reports for Portfolio Management.
  • Conduct data segregation to understand root cause of issues.
  • Build data-driven presentations and reports for TCPR executives and business stakeholders. Partner with Suppliers (Transunion, AOR LADS, etc.) to maximize analytics efforts to achieve business growth.

Database Management:
  • Ensure recalibration of models while enhancing with controls (auto approval, CDX, pricing, etc.)
  • Assist in applications development with focus on: data classification, data privacy, data protection, and security controls in alignment with compliance regulations.
  • Assess current databases to propose different alternatives to standardize and optimize them.
  • Ensure database fields are well documented.
  • Assist the IT department to define and design different components for local databases.
  • Write scaling secure code and maintain appropriate programming documentation including workflows.
  • Document programming problems and resolutions for future reference.
  • Complete non-routine updates on Microsoft SQL Server databases.
  • Update and validate reports used for decisioning (i.e., Tableau, Power BI)

People Management:
  • Supervise staff to ensure continuity and quality of service.
  • Complete objectives, performance evaluation, and development plans for direct report in a timely manner.
  • Ensure team members are up to date with training, knowledge and skills required for the position held.
  • Develop capabilities to deliver pre-analysis and analysis to speed up business decisions as well as validating implemented initiatives.
  • Optimize engagement level.

Knowledge and Skills
Education
Required
  • Four-Year college Degree (BA or BS): Business administration, Information Technology

Experience - Subject Matter Expertise
Required
  • 2-5 years of relevant / progressive work experience (in similar field and/or industry)

Licenses, Certifications & Specialized Skills (if applicable)
Required
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish
  • High degree of organizational skills with the ability to work in a deadline driven environment
  • Proficiency with MS software: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Power BI
  • High level knowledge of system and data architecture principles, Data Steward, release testing, and QA procedures.

Preferred
  • Kaizen, Lean, Agile, Six Sigma
  • Financial services, banking, or automotive industry experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of portfolio management
  • Comprehensive project management knowledge

Additional Comments, Including Unique Circumstances
  • Travel required up to 5% of the time
  • Work schedule: Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. In some instances, working overtime may be required.
