Job description

The Senior Manager-Learning and Development (L&D) leads the team focused on improving the productivity of the company's employees and their skills and qualifications necessary for advancement. This position assesses company-wide development, succession, safety, and compliance needs to drive training initiatives and identifies and arranges suitable training solutions within the company's Learning Management System (LMS). The Senior Manager L&D initiates, designs, and implements effective methods to educate and enhance performance.
  • Develops learning and development programs supporting divisions and departments across the company based on needs assessments, learning strategies, and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Reviews existing training programs and suggests enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, retention, and advancement.
  • Leads a team to develop and deliver learning and development programs and objectives integrating the company's LMS, HRIS, and related systems.
  • Identifies, obtains, and develops effective training materials utilizing a variety of media.
  • Trains and coaches' managers, supervisors, and others are involved in employee learning and development efforts.
  • Defines and implements leadership and development programs for all management-level employees.
  • Plans, organizes, and facilitates learning and development events.
  • Utilizes company communications systems to inform employees and management regarding learning and development events and resources.
  • Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results.
  • Modifies and updates programs as needed.
  • Works effectively with other members of management and the HR staff.
  • Manages and develops a team of learning professionals.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
  • Six years of experience designing and implementing learning and development programs.
  • Experience utilizing an LMS required; experience implementing or upgrading an LMS preferred.
  • Experience managing learning professionals required.
  • Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) preferred credential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
  • Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
  • Ability to design and implement effective learning and development.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes
Pay Range: $110,000 - 150,000 per year
The posted compensation range is based on the applicable geographic market for the position and may vary depending on factors such as related experience and skill set. Final compensation will be determined based on these items and other relevant factors.
