Summary

This is an exciting time to work for Amarillo College! We are seeking our next Part-Time Development Specialist who will be all-in on our mission and who will perform a variety of clerical and administrative tasks to support the operations of the assigned program/department and facilitate smooth office procedures.
DESCRIPTION
The Development Specialist builds and supports relationships with businesses, community organizations, and individual donors that may provide underwriting, sponsorship, or major-gift support. This position expands the station's prospect base, conducts outreach and follow-up, assists with proposals and cultivation, maintains accurate relationship records, and supports sponsor and donor stewardship. The role provides consistent front-line development activity that helps move prospective supporters from initial contact toward sustained investment in Panhandle PBS.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related field.
Preferred:
EXPERIENCE
Required: Three (3) years of experience in fundraising, business, marketing, public relations, advertising or community relations.
Preferred:
  • Previous non-profit, public and/or customer relations and marketing experience.
  • Database experience and management knowledge.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Knowledge of customer service, relationship-building, fundraising, sales, or community engagement principles.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and networking skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with donors, sponsors, community partners, and the public.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Ability to communicate professionally in both written and verbal formats.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn donor management, CRM, and reporting systems.
  • Knowledge of Panhandle PBS, public media, and the Texas Panhandle community is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work simultaneously on multiple projects.
  • Ability to use computer software programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
