Job description

Position Summary

The Learning & Development Intern will gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while contributing to real business initiatives. This internship is designed to provide practical, career-related experience aligned with the studentโ€™s academic focus.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this internship, the intern will:

  • Develop a foundational understanding of adult learning principles and corporate training systems
  • Gain hands-on experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), curriculum development, and training evaluation
  • Strengthen professional communication and facilitation skills in a workplace setting
  • Participate in real-world L&D projects that impact employee development and operational compliance
  • Understand workplace expectations and regulatory training requirements in a manufacturing environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with curriculum development and instructional material creation for manufacturing training programs
  • Support LMS deployment, configuration, and content upload activities
  • Track and maintain training records to ensure compliance and audit readiness
  • Facilitate classroom-based training sessions under supervision
  • Support audit preparedness activities including documentation review and record verification
  • Conduct training evaluations and assist with data analysis to measure program effectiveness
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Quality, and Safety
  • Participate in L&D team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvement

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled student at Texas A&M University or accredited institution
  • Pursuing a degree in Education, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Human Resource Development, or related field
  • Strong interest in adult learning, corporate training, and employee development
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Willingness to learn and contribute in a team environment
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Comfortable presenting and facilitating in front of groups
