Job Description

Team Penske transport drivers are full-time, year-round opportunities supporting our IndyCar program. Our transport drivers are expected to represent the team in a professional manner at all times while on the road and in the shop. As an IndyCar Transport Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting race cars, pit equipment, tools, and materials to and from race and test venues across the IndyCar schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Safely load, secure, and unload IndyCar race cars, pit equipment, and associated materials.
  • Manage transporter inventory and ensure all equipment is accounted for before and after events.
  • Maintain cleanliness and professional presentation of the transporter for team personnel, partners, and guests.
  • Ensure compliance with all DOT, DMV, state, and federal highway safety regulations.
  • Meet travel schedules, timelines, and delivery deadlines safely and efficiently.
  • Represent Team Penske professionally at race venues, test sessions, and partner events.
  • Inspect and ensure the truck and trailer are in safe operating condition prior to departure and upon return.
  • Complete all required logs, mileage reports, and expense documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist shop personnel with transporter preparation, organization, and event staging when not on the road.
Qualifications
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) required.
  • Current Medical Examinerโ€™s Safety Certificate required (or ability to obtain).
  • Clean driving record and satisfactory background check.
  • Professional demeanor and strong work ethic.
  • Prior motorsports transport experience preferred; experience hauling high-value equipment (e.g., car haulers) considered.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs independently.
  • Ability to maneuver within confined spaces inside transporter trailers.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods (10+ hours).
  • Must be able to work the full IndyCar race and test schedule, including weekends and extended travel periods.
  • Must be able to work in the shop when not traveling; this is not a fly-in position.
