  • Remote position with occasional travel to Atlanta, Georgia and Salt Lake City, Utah.
  • Preference for candidates located near Atlanta, Georgia.

Compensation

  • Salary: $125,000+ annually based on experience and qualifications.
  • Eligible for a 25% bonus opportunity.

Position Summary

The Transformer Engineer โ€“ MV role is a senior-level opportunity for an experienced electrical engineering professional to lead the advancement of medium-voltage transformer product lines supporting utility, data center, renewable energy, and industrial projects. This position combines technical leadership, customer engagement, and project coordination responsibilities while driving product development, supporting complex engineered solutions, and collaborating across engineering, sales, and manufacturing teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Job Function

  • Lead medium-voltage transformer product lines and support engineering project execution.
  • Develop quotations, schematics, wiring diagrams, BOM sheets, and technical drawing packages.
  • Review customer specifications, testing requirements, documentation standards, and lead times.
  • Manage customer support activities from quotation through production and delivery.
  • Coordinate project requirements with engineering, scheduling, manufacturing, and sales teams.
  • Provide technical support regarding transformer applications and specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with ANSI, IEEE, CSA, and NEMA standards.
  • Participate in customer visits and assembly facility tours as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives involving quoting, order management, and product standardization.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred, ideally with a power systems focus.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related engineering discipline or business field with relevant technical experience considered.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in product management, technical sales, project coordination, or customer support within a technical environment preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is optional.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, standards, and codes.
  • In-depth understanding of medium-voltage power distribution systems and transformers.
  • Ability to lead teams and collaborate with senior leadership and project managers.
  • Experience coordinating schedules and managing technical project deliverables.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply engineering standards, procedures, and specifications.
  • Experience interacting directly with customers to resolve technical challenges.
  • Ability to evaluate design alternatives and provide technical direction to staff.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • ERP or SAP experience preferred.
  • Intermediate CAD experience preferred.
