Job Summary
The Senior Executive Assistant to the President serves as a trusted strategic partner and principal administrative liaison to the President, providing executive-level support in the management of presidential priorities, institutional initiatives, governance activities, and executive communications. This position directs and coordinates the daily operations of the Office of the President, ensuring effective workflow, confidentiality, and responsiveness.
The Senior Executive Assistant serves as a key point of contact between the President and internal and external stakeholders, including members of the Executive Cabinet, faculty, staff, students, community partners, elected officials, and the University System of Georgia.
Responsibilities
  • Manages the President's incoming and outgoing correspondence. Oversees administrative processes and operational activities within the President's Office, ensuring alignment with institutional standards and expectations;
  • M anages the daily operations of the Office of the President;
  • Drafts correspondence and emails. Prepares, reviews, and coordinates executive correspondence, reports, presentations, speeches, briefing materials, and official communications. Conducts research, gathers information, and develops executive summaries to support presidential decision-making;
  • Directs phone calls to the appropriate personnel. Serves as the liaison between the President and internal and external constituents, maintaining positive and professional relationships;
  • Coordinates and manages special events. Coordinates and monitors presidential initiatives, special projects, and strategic assignments to ensure timely completion and follow-through; Coordinates presidential events, campus visits, commencements, donor engagements, and special institutional functions;
  • Handles a variety of sensitive and confidential assignments;
  • Manages the calendar and makes travel arrangements of the President. Manages the President's complex calendar, scheduling priorities, travel logistics, and executive commitments,
  • Prepares travel vouchers;
  • Attends Administrative Cabinet meetings, takes minutes and investigates issues at meetings;
  • Exercises judgment in resolving operational and administrative matters on behalf of the President; and
  • Performs other related duties as required. Performs other duties as assigned in support of presidential and institutional objectives.
Required Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required; Five (5) years of progressively responsible executive administrative, operations, project management, or higher education leadership support experience required, including direct support to senior executives.

Proposed Salary
The starting salary range for this position is $ 66,000 - 74,500
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and good listening skill.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others.
  • Requires the ability to be accountable for inventory/property management.
  • Requires the ability to manage the budget within assigned department.
  • Requires the ability to use small office equipment, including copy machines or multi-line telephone systems.
  • Requires the ability to use computers for word processing and/or accounting purposes.
