Job description

Job Title: Laborer / Fence Installer

Position Summary:
A Fence Installer is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of residential, commercial, and industrial fencing systems. This position requires the ability to safely operate tools and equipment, follow installation specifications, and ensure high-quality workmanship while providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install various types of fencing, including wood, vinyl, chain-link, aluminum, steel, and ornamental fences.
  • Measure and mark fence lines according to project plans and property boundaries.
  • Dig post holes and set fence posts using concrete and other anchoring methods.
  • Assemble and install fence panels, gates, hardware, and related components.
  • Repair damaged fences and replace defective materials as needed.
  • Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment to job sites.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, augers, post-hole diggers, and other construction equipment safely.
  • Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and project specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and organized worksite while adhering to safety standards.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, supervisors, and team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous fencing, construction, landscaping, or general labor experience preferred.
  • Ability to read measuring tools and perform basic math calculations.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Comfortable using hand and power tools safely.
