Summary
The Manager, Event Registration & Technology is responsible for leading SHRM's event registration and technology function which includes registration, conference apps, and virtual production. The manager understands the virtual/hybrid event and the conference industry, including programming for online learning, user web behaviors and AV production. Digitally savvy and curious on latest technology trends, this position is continually up to date on event best practices, has an audience-centric approach, and provides innovative thinking to drive new ideas in an everchanging event registration and technology environment. Additionally, the Manager, Event Registration & Technology oversees accessibility functions ensuring SHRM is meeting all-inclusive best practices and ADA requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Drives the event registration and technology strategy as a project manager, working cross-functionally with both internal and external stakeholders on conceptualization, development, implementation, testing, and analysis of events.
  • Oversees the end-to-end management of event registration & technology, including pre-event planning, onsite execution, space design, power, Internet and signage.
  • Facilitates communications and collaboration across all internal and external stakeholders for project delivery and education for each product.
  • Leads requests for proposals, selection process and contract and budget management of event registration and technologies.
  • Manages all event registration and technology integrations with other SHRM platforms, including the conference app.
  • Executes all virtual programming AV production elements throughout planning, execution, and post event cycles including managing the virtual volunteers.
  • Manages event registration function including monitoring product setup, integrations, testing, ongoing metrics and reporting.
  • Oversees accessibility and accommodations efforts in compliance with SHRM policies.
  • Develops and manages budget and reporting.
  • Coordinates design workflow of creative assets and contributes to marketing and communications materials.
  • Leads the development of the post-event survey and analysis with Market Research.
  • Researches other event registration and technology trends and solutions for future consideration.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned to support SHRM events

Education & Experience Requirements
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or equivalent relevant work experience/training.

Experience:
  • At least eight (8) years of experience in a similar work environment, preferably in project management with a medium to large brand(s).
  • Experience in event registration and technology that include overseeing integrations.
  • Portfolio of progressive virtual/hybrid event experiences and producing revenue-generating virtual/hybrid events in a variety of platforms.
  • Deep understanding of TV or video programming and production preferred.
  • Background in online learning to include content development, programming and virtual/hybrid best practices.
  • Familiarity with RainFocus, NetSuite, Eventbase, MapD, MapYourShow, Tableau, Salesforce and Marketo or other similar event registration and technology platforms.

  • Ability to effectively leverage artificial intelligence (AI) tools and technologies to streamline workflows, enhance productivity, and improve overall work quality.

Work Environment
Hybrid Position (3 Days In-Office, 2 Days Remote):
  • This position follows a hybrid work schedule, with Tuesday through Thursday in office and Monday and Friday remote. Employees must be available during standard business hours, with core hours beginning between 8:00AM - 9:00AM and concluding between 5:00PM - 6:00PM.

The hiring range for this position is $105,000 to $130,000 per year. This range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. SHRM offers a competitive and comprehensive total rewards package.
