Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
Oversees vendor prequalification and compliance within the Risk Management team, leading a team of Risk Analysts and managing the systems, processes, and vendor relationships that support prequalification and risk mitigation.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*:
  • Leads a team of Risk Analysts who review and approve prequalification, risk mitigation plans, payment and risk management halt codes, insurance certificate compliance, and vendor reassignment requests.
  • Responsible for the following systems: TradeTapp, BC Admin Screen, and JSM - Risk Management Help Desk.
  • Conducts financial reviews for vendors in the prequalification process.
    • Sets single project and aggregate limits for vendors in the prequalification process.
  • Responsible for responding to inquiries and confirming subcontractor eligibility for SDI enrollment.
  • Creates and manages the Risk Mitigation Plan (RMP) approval process.
    • Responsible for approving bond waivers for vendors.
  • Oversees halt code system, including insurance certificate compliance, safety and financial RMP halt codes, and material transaction thresholds, material bonds.
  • Serves as liaison between Project Financial Controls (PFC) and Risk Management.
  • Collaborates with Project Delivery and Finance to resolve any vendor related issues that may arise.
  • Collaborates with Legal on vendor changes, including amendments and assignment/assumption agreements.
  • Leads and contributes to risk management initiatives and projects for the enterprise.
  • Responds to external parties who call the Barton Malow Help Line.
  • Completes invoice processing as required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance/Accounting, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in project financial controls or risk management ideally within construction or a related industry.
  • 2+ years of experience directly managing or leading a team, preferably in a risk, compliance, or financial/accounting related function.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with vendors, internal teams, Legal, and Finance.
  • Strong analytical, schedule, and financial acumen.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives.
  • Ability to lead, train, and develop a team of analysts.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/JOB CONDITIONS:
  • Travel for project assignments may be required based on Company needs.
