Soni is supporting an international law firm with a strong global footprint in its search for it's initial US hires. This Fixed Term Contract Human Resources Manager role is a standalone HR position for the firm's US offices, and will act as the primary on the ground HR contact and partner with senior stakeholders, delivering hands on support across the full employee lifecycle. An exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building from the ground up and is comfortable working across the full spectrum of HR activity, the role requires an HR professional who can operate strategically and tactically, balancing advisory support with day-to-day HR execution.
Duties & Responsibilities - Build relationships with internal stakeholders, providing advice on a full range of HR matters
- Own and support HR activity across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment support, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, promotions, compensation changes, and offboarding.
- Coordinate US payroll inputs and ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time
- Work with benefits team to deliver on the administration of benefits programs
- Stay up to date on federal, state, and local employment law and compliance
- Advise on and manage employee relations matters, including performance concerns, disciplinary issues, grievances, investigations, accommodations, leaves of absence, and terminations, ensuring a fair, consistent, and well-documented approach.
- Maintain and help develop U.S. HR policies, processes, templates, and employee communications.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers on recruitment activity, offer processes, pre-employment checks, and onboarding, helping to deliver a smooth and compliant candidate and new hire experience.
- Support compensation and annual review processes for the U.S. population, including market data input, promotion and salary change administration.
- Contribute to broader HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives, helping to establish scalable and compliant HR infrastructure as the Firm's U.S. presence evolves.
- Conduct regular audits and training on data privacy and protection.
Experience & Skills - Minimum 5+ years of HR experience, including partnering with senior leadership
- Strong generalist HR expertise across the full employee lifecycle
- Solid knowledge of US employment law and employee relations practices
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated ability in data analysis, project management, and change initiatives
- High level of discretion, professionalism, and ability to handle sensitive information
Compensation: $125,000-155,000Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
