Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced hospice executive to assume overall responsibility for its Akron-area hospice operation.

The Executive Director/Administrator will provide leadership across operations, clinical services, regulatory compliance, staffing, financial performance, quality, culture, and market development.

This leader will be accountable for ensuring that the agency delivers high-quality interdisciplinary hospice care while meeting operational, financial, compliance, and organizational objectives.

An active Registered Nurse license is required for this position.

Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license required.
  • Approximately two to five years of healthcare-management experience or comparable leadership experience.
  • Hospice leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of Medicare hospice certification and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising clinical, professional, and administrative personnel.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare operations, financial management, staffing, quality, compliance, and interdisciplinary care.
  • Ability to build relationships and represent the agency effectively within the community.
  • Strong communication, leadership, judgment, organizational, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in an accountable, outcomes-driven environment.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The strongest candidate will be an experienced hospice operator who can lead through both people and performance.

This individual should understand how clinical quality, staffing, culture, compliance, referral relationships, census development, and financial stewardship work together.

Prior experience as a Hospice Executive Director, Administrator, Branch Director, General Manager, Director of Operations, or senior clinical-operations leader would be highly relevant.

The organization is particularly interested in a leader who can create stability, establish expectations, develop the management team, and build an accountable culture centered on quality patient care.
