Job Title: Driver Recruiting Manager/Director

Reports To: President of JBS Trucking

Location: 1700 Georgesville, Rd. Columbus, OH

Job Type: Full Time

Classification: Exempt


Job Summary: We are seeking a creative and organized Driver Recruiting Manager / Director to lead our Recruiting Department. This role will focus on developing, executing, and optimizing driver recruitment strategies to retain high-quality drivers while fostering their professional growth. The ideal candidate has a strong recruitment background, excellent leadership, communication, and relationship building skills, and a passion for scaling recruitment and training programs in a dynamic environment.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive driver recruitment and retention strategy aligned with company goals.
  • Talent Acquisition: Lead the recruiting team to source, screen, and hire qualified drivers through innovative outreach, partnerships, and marketing initiatives.
  • Driver Development: Oversee onboarding, training, and career development programs to enhance driver skills, safety, and job satisfaction.
  • Retention & Engagement: Implement initiatives to improve driver retention, including recognition programs, feedback systems, and career pathing.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all recruiting and training processes meet DOT, FMCSA, and company safety standards.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Monitor KPIs such as time-to-hire, turnover rates, and training completion to continuously improve performance.
  • Team Management: Mentor and develop recruiting and training staff, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Industry Engagement: Represent the company at industry events, job fairs, and networking opportunities to strengthen the employer brand.


Required Skills/Abilities:


  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience using recruiting and HR analytics tools.
  • The ability to adapt, adjust, conquer, and overcome.


Preferred Qualifications/Certifications:


  • Proven track record of building and scaling recruitment and training programs.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations.


Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources, Transportation Management, for related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in driver recruiting, transportation operations, or talent development, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Experience leading / building a team of recruiters
  • Experience with 10th St. Talent and Randall Reilly
