The Opportunity

The Marketing and Communications Team at Greenwich House is seeking a dynamic, creative, and digitally savvy Digital Content and Storytelling Manager to lead storytelling and content development across the organization’s social media channels and website.


This role will shape how Greenwich House tells its story online, bringing our programs, community members, and impact to life through engaging digital content. The Digital Content and Storytelling Manager will develop and execute a digital storytelling strategy that strengthens audience engagement, grows our online presence, and highlights the people and programs at the heart of our mission.


Working across programs in health, human services, education, and the arts, the Digital Content and Storytelling Manager will identify compelling stories and translate them into high-quality content across platforms—including social media, web features, photography, and video.

Responsibilities

Digital Storytelling & Content Strategy

  • Develop and implement a digital storytelling strategy that highlights Greenwich House’s mission, programs, and community impact across social media and web platforms.
  • Identify and cultivate a balanced mix of human-interest and community impact stories from across the organization by interviewing program participants, staff, artists, educators, and community members.
  • Develop compelling narratives and digital content that bring Greenwich House’s programs and impact to life online.
  • Maintain a consistent voice, tone, and visual identity across all digital platforms.


Website Content & Management

  • Oversee and proactively manage the day-to-day maintenance of the Greenwich House website, ensuring accurate, timely, and mission-driven content.
  • Write and publish website articles, program features, and blog content that showcase Greenwich House’s impact.
  • Utilize AI-assisted tools to optimize website content for user experience, alt text, accessibility, and search engine optimization (SEO).
  • Perform regular hygiene audit reviews of website information and analytics to improve performance and user engagement.
  • Troubleshoot website issues and coordinate with developers or hosting providers as needed.

Organic Social Media Strategy & Management

  • Develop platform-specific organic social media strategies across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and other relevant channels.
  • Manage Greenwich House’s social media channels, including content planning, publishing, and audience engagement.
  • Own and manage the always-on social media editorial calendar, aligning with campaigns, events, and organizational priorities.
  • Respond to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Propose and execute strategies for audience growth and increased engagement across GH-owned platforms and GH leadership or staff accounts for further amplification.


Multimedia Content Creation

  • Produce multimedia content—including photography, short-form video, and graphic assets—for use across social media and web platforms.
  • Regularly visit centers and program sites to capture content, transforming field footage into professional-grade short-form video.
  • Collaborate with the internal MarComm, Development and Program teams to ensure specific fundraising goals and program-specific events are translated into compelling digital calls-to-action.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop multimedia content that supports marketing campaigns and organizational initiatives.


Analytics, Reporting & Optimization

  • Track and analyze digital performance metrics across social media and web platforms.
  • Use data insights to refine content strategy, improve engagement, and optimize performance.
  • Monitor emerging digital storytelling tools and trends to continuously improve Greenwich House’s digital presence.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, media production, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • 4–6 years of experience in digital marketing, content creation, or social media platform management, specifically WordPress Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube
  • The ability to see the "big picture" of an organization’s mission and translate it into a structured, multi-part storytelling roadmap
  • Exceptional writing, storytelling, and interviewing skills with the ability to translate mission-driven work into engaging digital narratives
  • Strong photography, video production, and visual storytelling skills
  • A proven track record of developing creative "hooks" and recurring content series that keep audiences coming back for more
  • Proficiency in multimedia content creation including video production, photography, and graphic design
  • Familiarity with SEO principles and Google Analytics
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven cultural competency and experience working effectively within diverse, multi-generational, and multi-ethnic environments

Location: 623 Broadway, New York, NY; Hybrid (Onsite 4 Days/Week)

Schedule: 35 hours/Week, Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

FLSA Classification: Exempt

Salary Range

The expected base salary for this position is $75,000 - $85,000 annually. This range reflects the anticipated compensation at the time of this posting and may be adjusted based on experience, education, and organizational needs.
