Job description

The Senior Data Analyst demonstrates analytical thinking and creative problem solving for business questions across the organization.

Working closely with the Senior Manager, Data Analytics, this role serves as a senior business partner to leaders across the company - owning analytics engagements end-to-end, contributing to team planning, and helping shape how Suvoda adopts AI in analytics.

Our goal is to build a strong data culture at Suvoda using the strategy of the Data Analytics Cycle. Success will derive from developing new BI solutions, leading AI-enabled analytics pilots, and automating ad-hoc analysis for clear, action-oriented, evolving insights that inform Suvoda's strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Own analytics engagements with cross-functional stakeholders end-to-end - from requirements gathering through delivery and adoption - for new and improved BI solutions.
  • Develop, test, publish, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards using data from multiple sources (Snowflake, Web (API), etc.).
  • Maintain Power BI reports post-launch - gathering stakeholder feedback, supporting users, and managing workspace and report-level permissions.
  • Transform and analyze multiple data sources from Suvoda's systems.
  • Build and maintain dbt models in Snowflake to support Power BI reporting.
  • Build and maintain centralized semantic models / Datasets (Power BI) for departmental reporting, including custom measures, summary tables, etc.
  • Utilize Power Query to further clean and format data for analysis.
  • Leverage AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code) to accelerate SQL, dbt, and Power BI development.
  • Maintain Suvoda's business glossary, consolidating metrics calculations from Power BI, dbt, and SQL and cataloging business-critical system fields with links to terms and definitions.
  • Support the Senior Manager, Data Analytics in piloting AI-enabled analytics workflows - including text-to-SQL on Snowflake - to enable self-service exploration for internal stakeholders.
  • Present analytics findings to senior stakeholders and recommend new/adjusted KPIs to inform business decisions.
  • Contribute to team planning and roadmap prioritization with the Senior Manager, Data Analytics, and mentor junior analysts on SQL, dbt, and Power BI best practices.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience in business analyst, data analyst, strategy analyst, process analyst or similar role.
  • 5+ years' experience using a business analytics service or tool: Power BI, Tableau, MicroStrategy, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years' experience in one or more of the following: SQL (preferred), dbt, DAX, Python or equivalent.
  • Experience with Snowflake or an equivalent cloud data warehouse (Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift) preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel, Salesforce, Jira, and standard analytics and presentation tools.
  • Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) and/or text-to-SQL or other LLM-based analytics tools preferred.
  • Self-starter with a passion for continuous learning and creative problem solving.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with senior stakeholders on cross-functional initiatives, including leading discovery, driving adoption, and influencing decisions. Â
