At RED RHINO, we're looking for an innovative, results-driven Research & Development Manager to turn great ideas into real operational wins! This role will lead our R&D function by evaluating opportunities, running pilots, analyzing results, and scaling smarter tools, processes, and field solutions across the company. Pay and Perks:
  • Compensation: $105k - $120k; quarterly bonus potential based on initiative outcomes.
  • Standard full-time employee benefits package.
About the Role:
  • HQ required, this is not a remote position.
  • Own the end-to-end R&D pipeline, managing intake, prioritization, and sequencing of innovation, tool development, and process improvement initiatives based on impact, feasibility, ROI, and strategic fit.
  • Lead the design and governance of structured testing programs, establishing clear hypotheses, success metrics, data standards, and disciplined pilot execution across field operations.
  • Analyze pilot results and operational data to deliver clear recommendations on whether initiatives should scale, improve, pause, or be discontinued.
  • Translate validated ideas into scalable field processes, tools, and rollout plans in partnership with operations and training teams to drive adoption and consistency.
  • Monitor post-launch performance, adoption, and feedback to refine solutions and ensure sustained results.
  • Lead and develop the R&D team, setting priorities, coaching performance, and shaping the long-term strategy and capabilities of the function.
What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 7-12+ years of progressive experience in operations, engineering, process improvement, or related fields, including 3-5+ years leading teams.
  • Proven ability to design, test, and scale pilots, innovation programs, and process improvements that deliver measurable results.
  • Strong analytical and business judgment skills with experience using KPIs, data, and ROI analysis to prioritize decisions and opportunities.
  • Demonstrated success building and implementing standardized processes that drive consistency, adoption, and long-term operational performance.
  • Effective leader and communicator who can influence cross-functional teams, solve complex problems, and lead change across field and corporate environments.
