Job description

Accelerate your career. Join the organization that's driving the world's technology and shape the future.

Ingram Micro is a leading technology company for the global information technology ecosystem. With the ability to reach nearly 90% of the global population, we play a vital role in the worldwide IT sales channel, bringing products and services from technology manufacturers and cloud providers to business-to-business technology experts. Our market reach, diverse solutions and services portfolio, and digital platform Ingram Micro Xvantage set us apart. Learn more at www.ingrammicro.com

Come join our team where you'll make technology happen in surprising ways. Let's shape tomorrow - it'll be a fun journey!

This is a 5-Month contract position supporting Ingram Micro through an approved third-party staffing/payroll provider. The individual selected for this role will be employed and onboarded by the vendor and will not be an employee of Ingram Micro. This engagement is expected to last approximately five months.

This position is based at Ingram Micro's corporate headquarters in Irvine, California, and follows a hybrid work arrangement with 3-days onsite and 2-days remote per week. Candidates should be able to work on-site as business needs require. We may also consider qualified remote candidates located within the United States and encourage interested applicants to apply.

We're looking for a Content Designer to elevate UX content across our Xvantage platform and help shape our newly established Content Design discipline. You'll apply your craft across a global ecosystem, addressing immediate product needs while helping build the strategic foundations that make great content easier to create throughout the enterprise.

As an early member of the Content Design function, you'll have the opportunity to influence how content design is implemented, scaled, and measured across Ingram Micro. You'll also join a UX organization that values content design partnership, is committed to quality, and is excited about the impact this growing discipline can have on products, customers, and business outcomes.

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver UX content solutions across the Xvantage platform that improve clarity, usability, consistency, and quality.

  • Turn audit findings and incoming requests into actionable recommendations and production-ready content solutions.

  • Partner closely with Design, Product Management, Engineering, Data Science, Marketing, and other cross-functional teams to solve content challenges and align on solutions.

  • Provide hands-on support through consultations, recurring office hours, and embedded collaboration.

  • Identify recurring content challenges and help transform them into scalable guidance, patterns, processes, tools, and resources.

  • Help build and maintain content design infrastructure, including style guides, product glossaries, content systems, and content libraries.

  • Assist in creating lunch-and-learns, training materials, self-service resources, and other enablement programs.

  • Support the evaluation, implementation, and adoption of content design tools and workflows.

About You

You enjoy diving into complex problems and making experiences feel clear, intuitive, and useful. You bring strong content design expertise, thoughtful problem-solving skills, and the ability to confidently communicate the rationale behind your recommendations.

You think beyond individual content challenges and recognize opportunities to create standards, patterns, resources, processes, and tools that enable consistency and scale. You're collaborative, comfortable navigating ambiguity, and energized by helping establish and mature a growing discipline.

As part of a design team within a customer experience organization, you approach your work with a strong focus on customer value, connecting content decisions to both user needs and business objectives.

What You Bring to the Role

  • Bachelor's degree in human computer interaction, or related to, product design, UX/UI.

  • 5+ years of experience in content design, UX writing, content strategy, or a related field within software product environments.

  • A portfolio demonstrating strong content design craft, systems thinking, and experience solving complex problems.

  • Ability to translate ambiguous problems, research findings, and stakeholder feedback into practical, scalable solutions.

  • Strong collaboration skills and experience influencing cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously while navigating shifting priorities and competing stakeholder needs.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills.

  • Experience contributing to style guides, content standards, taxonomies, glossaries, pattern libraries, or design systems.

  • Ability to work independently while knowing when to seek feedback, alignment, or escalation.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience working on B2B, marketplace, supply chain, or distribution-focused products.

  • Experience creating content for global audiences and developing English-language content that translates effectively across markets.

  • Experience evaluating, implementing, or using AI-enabled content design tools to improve quality and efficiency.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $97,600.00 - $165,900.00 per year.
