Job description

The Construction Shutdown Project Manager serves as the Owner's Representative responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing facility shutdowns and outage-driven construction activities within active semiconductor manufacturing environments. This role works closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, contractors, and business stakeholders to develop shutdown strategies, manage schedules and resources, coordinate critical work activities, and ensure shutdown scopes are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with operational and project requirements. The Shutdown Project Manager plays a key role in minimizing operational disruption while supporting successful project delivery, facility reliability, and continuous manufacturing operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Engineering
  • 1+ years of experience working in either design or construction of projects. Labs, Semiconductor, and/or Critical Facility Construction is preferred.
  • PMP, CCM, or EIT is a plus
  • Proficient use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
  • History of strong client relations and people management skills
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills are fundamental to the success of facility project managers
  • Skills to identify issues and proactively respond to project issues
  • Strong written and oral communication skills to exchange information with senior management, service providers, workers, and contractors

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning, scheduling, and execution of facility shutdowns and outage-driven projects across the campus
  • Develop and maintain the shutdown master schedule, forecast resource needs, and identify milestone dates
  • Balance onsite contractor and maintenance resources across multiple projects and shutdown activities
  • Organize and maintain project history, schedules, and forecasting information using Microsoft Project and Excel
  • Develop, update, and maintain shutdown procedures, planning tools, and readiness documentation
  • Coordinate shutdown activities with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, Business Unit Managers, and Facilities teams
  • Conduct shutdown planning, priority, and readiness meetings and provide updates to project stakeholders and management
  • Prepare shutdown reports, status updates, and post-shutdown summaries for leadership and stakeholders
  • Develop shutdown management plans including logistics plans, traffic management plans, organizational charts, risk assessments, and field leadership schedules
  • Liaise with operations and maintenance teams to validate project scope, isolation requirements, maintenance activities, and execution strategies
  • Coordinate contractor activities including work scoping, logistics, execution planning, and completion tracking
  • Monitor shutdown safety KPIs, schedule adherence, execution performance, and risks, and communicate findings to key stakeholders
  • Chair shutdown readiness meetings and maintain readiness tracking tools
  • Ensure shutdown work scopes are fully developed, reviewed, and prepared prior to execution
  • Support implementation of safety programs, safety discussions, site safety meetings, and safe work execution practices
  • Promote accountability, collaboration, risk management, problem solving, and continuous improvement across project teams
  • Support development of a positive team culture focused on communication, safety, teamwork, and operational excellence
  • Participate in and support incident and event investigations
