Senior Manager, Performance Excellence
At Chanel, we are focused on creating an inclusive culture that nurtures personal growth, contributing to collective progress. We believe the uniqueness of each individual increases the diversity, complementarity and effectiveness of our teams. We strongly encourage your application, as we value the perspective, experience and potential you could bring to CHANEL.
About the Role:
The Senior Manager, Performance Excellence is a strategic and analytical role within the Retail Excellence organization, responsible for building and managing the staffing framework that drives productivity and performance across our MBR and owned F&B retail network. This role sits at the intersection of financial management, data analysis, and cross-functional influence, partnering closely with commercial development, retail and finance teams to ensure our points of sale are optimally staffed to deliver business results. Reporting directly to the Senior Group Director of Performance Excellence, this position requires a high degree of independence, financial acumen and the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.
What impact you can create at CHANEL:
In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of CHANEL's F&B retail staffing strategy. You will:
  • Build and implement a comprehensive headcount planning framework that maximizes productivity, effectiveness, and ROI across all F&B retail locations.
  • Translate staffing analysis into actionable recommendations, driving commercial development and strengthening partnerships with retail collaborators.
  • Drive strategic deployment of freelance talent, ensuring CHANEL's business objectives are met with agility and precision.
  • Present critical insights to senior leadership, influencing key decisions that directly impact the business.
  • Take full ownership of freelance and shared retailer budget management, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to deliver high-value outcomes.
  • Develop and evolve compensation strategies that enable CHANEL to attract, motivate, and retain top field talent in competitive markets.

By joining us, you will have a direct and tangible impact on our talent strategy, financial stewardship, and commercial growth, ensuring CHANEL remains a leader in luxury retail.
You are energized by:
  • Navigating complexity and driving continuous improvement in a dynamic retail environment.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with retail, trade marketing, commercial development, finance, and People & Organization teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Analyzing data and uncovering insights that shape strategy and influence senior decision makers.
  • Seeking out new approaches and challenging established processes to create more effective and innovative solutions.
  • Operating independently, managing multiple priorities, and delivering results with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Presenting complex information with clarity and confidence to senior audiences.

What you will bring to the team:
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in roles involving budget ownership, analytical problem-solving, and data-driven recommendations, ideally within retail or consumer-facing industries.
  • A deep understanding of what drives success in retail teams and a passion for optimizing the associate and client experience.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, even without direct authority, and proven experience working cross-functionally.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, especially when translating complex analysis into actionable insights.
  • A strategic, curious mindset with a drive to innovate and improve existing frameworks.
  • Experience in compensation strategy or market benchmarking is a strong plus.

Position Logistics:
  • This position is Partially Remote: Requires a minimum of three days in-person office presence at the New York Corporate office.
  • Occasional travel may be required for meetings, trainings or on-site retail visits.
  • No significant physical requirements.
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in relevant roles.

What skills you will learn? What experiences might you have?
  • Advanced project management and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Exposure to senior leadership and opportunities to influence business-critical decisions.
  • Deep expertise in retail workforce analytics, staffing strategy, and financial stewardship.
  • Experience developing and implementing compensation frameworks at a market-leading luxury brand.
  • Opportunities for growth into broader talent, financial, or commercial strategy roles within CHANEL.
  • Mentorship, including regular development conversations and exposure to senior-level strategic work.
