Reports To: Food & Beverage Manager / Assistant Food & Beverage Manager
Compensation: Competitive hourly wage based on experience, plus tips
Shift: Early morning shift beginning at 5:30 a.m.
Position Summary
Garnet Hotels is seeking a friendly, dependable, and guest-focused Breakfast Server to join the Applebee’s team at our dual-brand Delta Hotels and Fairfield Inn & Suites property in Matteson, Illinois.
The Breakfast Server will provide prompt and attentive service to hotel guests and restaurant customers. The ideal candidate has a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a passion for creating an excellent breakfast experience.
Key Responsibilities
  •  Welcome guests in a warm and professional manner. 
  •  Take and serve food and beverage orders accurately. 
  •  Explain breakfast menu items, specials, and beverage selections. 
  •  Refill beverages and respond promptly to guest requests. 
  •  Check guest satisfaction throughout the meal. 
  •  Maintain clean, organized, and properly set tables. 
  •  Process guest checks using the restaurant POS system. 
  •  Follow cash-handling procedures. 
  •  Coordinate with kitchen and bar team members for timely service. 
  •  Complete opening, closing, and side-work duties. 
  •  Stock service stations and prepare the dining room. 
  •  Follow food safety and sanitation requirements. 
  •  Support lunch service and other Food & Beverage operations when needed. 
Qualifications
  •  Previous restaurant or breakfast-serving experience is preferred. 
  •  Excellent guest-service and communication skills. 
  •  Dependable attendance and punctuality. 
  •  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 
  •  Must be available for shifts beginning at 5:30 a.m. 
  •  Must be available on weekends and holidays as scheduled. 
  •  ServSafe Food Handler certification or ability to obtain it upon hire. 
  •  Applebee’s, Marriott, hotel, or POS-system experience is a plus. 
Physical Requirements
  •  Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. 
  •  Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds. 
  •  Ability to carry trays and frequently bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements.
