Additive Manufacturing Technician

Beehive Industries is dedicated to Powering American Defense by revolutionizing the design, development, and delivery of jet propulsion systems to support the warfighter. Through the integration of additive manufacturing, the company aims to meet the growing and urgent needs for unmanned aerial defense by dramatically improving a jet engine's speed to market, fuel efficiency, and cost.

Founded in 2020, the company is headquartered in Centennial, Colorado, with additional facilities in Knoxville, Tennessee, Loveland Ohio, and Mount Vernon, Ohio. Beehive is committed to grow and advance the defense industrial base while manufacturing exclusively in the USA. This role will be located at our Knoxville, Tennessee facility.

Role Overview

The Additive Manufacturing Technician supports the production and operation of metal additive manufacturing equipment. This position is responsible for assisting with machine setup, powder handling, build preparation, post-build activities, and general production support for Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) and Metal Binder Jet (MBJ) systems. The technician will work closely with engineers, quality personnel, and production leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations in a regulated aerospace environment. This role is ideal for individuals interested in advanced manufacturing technologies, precision production, and continuous learning within a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with machine setup, build preparation, material loading, and powder handling
  • Perform routine machine cleaning, preventative maintenance, and housekeeping
  • Support powder recycling, sieving, storage, and material traceability requirements
  • Follow all quality procedures, documentation requirements, and production standards
  • Complete production records, inspection documentation, and work order tracking
  • Perform basic visual inspections of parts and report defects
  • Follow strict safety procedures related to metal powders, personal protective equipment (PPE), and industrial equipment
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery
  • Work collaboratively with manufacturing engineers, quality, and production personnel
  • Assist in inventory management and material movement as needed
  • Operate hoists, or other material handling equipment when trained and authorized

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Mechanical aptitude and interest in advanced manufacturing technologies
  • Ability to read and follow written work instructions and procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work safely in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn manufacturing software systems
  • Willingness to wear required PPE including respirators, gloves, and protective clothing
  • Ability to work overtime or shift schedules as required by production demands
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain compliance with aerospace quality and safety standards
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issues security clearance is required. U.S. Citizenship is required, as only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a security clearance
