Job description

The Production Engineering position works closely with the Quality and Production departments to support production and process improvement activities. The position serves as a technical expert for production on all things process related and will routinely provide hands on training and guidance to production personnel. Success in this position will require the individual to maintain a high level of knowledge on a diverse range of products.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
In order to be successful in this role you'll need the following:
  • Ability to read and understand schematic drawings
  • A high degree of competence in MS Office programs
  • Read, write, and interpret documented production processes
  • Ability to audit production processes and report findings
  • Ability to productively work with every level of the organization
  • Ability to identify and address production related concerns
  • Knowledge of CAD software (ex: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Catia, SketchUp)
  • Operational knowledge of common manufacturing best practices

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
  • Combination of formal training and work experience in relevant technical field
  • Mechanical ability and experience with common manufacturing equipment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Experience working within a defined process workflow

Preferred:
  • Bachelors in Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Science, or other relevant technical degree
  • Experience working in a job shop environment
  • Experience training others in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Laser inspection equipment
  • Experience with 3D printing

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to stand and walk, as well as push, pull, squat, bend, stoop and reach frequently during shifts
  • Ability to regularly push/pull and lift/carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds
  • Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble products or operate machines as directed.
  • Prolonged periods standing.
