Position Summary

The Manufacturing Technician is an onsite role based in Fort Wayne, Indiana, with potential travel to Auburn, Indiana, working directly with the VeroTouch operations team on the mixing, testing, and distribution of specialty materials and chemical systems. This is a physical, hands-on position requiring the operation of trucks, trailers, forklifts, heavy equipment, power tools, and plumbing and purification systems. The role demands attention to detail, procedural discipline, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to keep accurate digital records.


This is a ground-floor opportunity. The right individual will be trained on advanced manufacturing techniques, work alongside experienced technical staff, and have a clear path for advancement within the company — including the potential for equity after one year of service.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Mixing and Batch Operations

• Mix, batch, and prepare specialty materials and chemical compounds in accordance with established procedures and batch records.

• Accurately measure, weigh, combine, and label raw materials per documented SOPs, maintaining awareness of material compatibility and safety requirements.

• Maintain complete batch labeling, traceability documentation, and production logs for all runs.

• Support QC checks on prepared batches (density, appearance, consistency) and document any out-of-spec results with sufficient detail to support investigation.


Testing and Quality Control

• Perform basic materials testing as directed, following established test protocols and recording results accurately.

• Conduct routine checks on equipment and materials to ensure conformance with specifications.

• Maintain accurate digital records of test results, production data, and inventory levels.

• Flag anomalies, spills, or safety concerns to the operations lead promptly with sufficient context for follow-up.

Distribution and Logistics

• Load, transport, and deliver materials using company trucks and trailers (non-CDL); a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.

• Operate forklifts and heavy equipment for loading and unloading materials; training provided if not already certified.

• Manage receiving, inspection, and organization of material deliveries; verify shipments against purchase orders and flag discrepancies.

• Maintain inventory accuracy and communicate replenishment needs to the operations lead in a timely manner.

• Travel as needed to support operations at other company locations; all travel expenses covered by the company.


Equipment and Facility Operations

• Operate power tools, plumbing systems, and water purification equipment as required by production and facility needs.

• Clean, inspect, and organize equipment and workspaces between production runs in accordance with established standards.

• Support equipment setup, calibration checks, and breakdown before and after each session; flag any equipment issues or malfunctions.

• Assist with facility maintenance tasks as needed to support a safe and functional work environment.


Safety and Compliance

• Wear and maintain required PPE at all times in active work areas; comply with all OSHA standards and company safety protocols.

• Maintain working familiarity with SDS documentation for all materials in use.

• Actively participate in safety briefings, toolbox talks, and any required training.

• Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or near-misses immediately to the operations lead


Qualifications


Required

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate a truck and trailer (non-CDL).

• Physical capability to perform manual labor, operate heavy equipment, and work in an active industrial environment for a full shift.

• Ability to lift, carry, or move materials weighing up to 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Ability to keep diligent, accurate digital notes and production records on a computer.

• Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions consistently.

• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed and to travel as required at company expense.

Preferred (Not Required)

• Basic knowledge in manufacturing, chemistry, materials science, or construction is beneficial; candidates without this background are welcome and will be trained.

• Prior experience operating forklifts, skid steers, telehandlers, or similar equipment is a plus.

• Familiarity with plumbing, fluid systems, or water treatment equipment is advantageous.

• Comfort working with technical data and applying attention to detail to production and quality processes.

• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply; Spanish-language communication skills are a meaningful plus given our operational environments.
