Department: Operations

Reports To: General Manager

JOB SUMMARY:

The Operations Manager will possess excellent time management skills and a proven track record of setting and meeting ambitious goals in the manufacturing industry. Managers must display considerable managerial experience and must be able to recruit new talent, allocate both human and material resources efficiently, communicate with HR and coordinate with other departments on time-sensitive projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Creates and ensures an environment conducive to the fostering of teamwork, employee morale, motivation and open communication.
  • Coaches and develops employees utilizing a consistent, approachable demeanor while clearly articulating expectations.
  • Directs and supports all production employees to achieve department goals and objectives.
  • Ensures a safe, secure and comfortable working environment for all production employees.
  • Ensures all production personnel are well trained with an emphasis on correct procedures, documentation, and policies.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper housekeeping levels are maintained.
  • Ensures that all safety and security procedures are followed.
  • Prepares appropriate employee evaluations in a timely manner as requested by Human Resources.
  • Adheres to all regulatory, company and department policies and procedures.
  • Ensures all Good Manufacturing Principles (GMP) are maintained.
  • Acts as a role model to other employees and encourages others to do the same.
  • Able to write and/or update SOP’s as needed.
  • Oversees daily operation and helps with scheduling, maintenance, staffing, quality.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment.
  • Organizes production team for smooth operations.
  • Works with Engineering to help alleviate downtime issues and increase throughput.
  • Ensures all maintenance schedules are adhered to.
  • Represents and promotes a positive image of the Company at all times both on and off the job.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or Associates degree with relevant experience required.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of supervision experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Food, bottling and/or pharmaceutical experience preferred.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledgeable and proficient on a computer, including Microsoft Office.
  • Possess the ability to creatively solve problems and maintain records.
  • Excellent organizational skills, accurate record keeping and detail orientation is necessary.
  • Ability to comply with all safety and department regulations.
  • Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
