Job Requirements
Silverseal is currently sourcing a Security Director for a financial institution.
This is an in-person position located in New York, NY.
LAW ENFORCEMENT EXPERIENCE IS A REQUIREMENT.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Fulfill all requirements of the new firm position of Security Director.
  • Responsible for the corporate security program, and for the founder's protective services, both corporate and personal, and all related assets and risks.
  • Physically capable of leading and providing personal protective services, sometimes in physically demanding environments.
  • Work closely, and collaborate with senior firm leadership, and internal, external stakeholders to execute the vision and strategies of management in the firm's and the founder's corporate security program.
  • Take the lead role to design and institute a holistic "Best in Class" corporate, and personal safety security program, with all requisite components.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with the organization's goals, and industry benchmarked best-practices.
  • Review any existing security measures and update protocols as needed.
  • Constantly analyze security trends and incidents to make informed adjustments to security protocols, and practices.
  • Always execute strategies and tactical measures based on "Intelligence-based" data.
  • Conduct security risk assessments, audits, and vulnerability studies to monitor security program compliance, and to identify vulnerabilities and risks across the firm's portfolio, and the founder's personal environment, and develop action plans to mitigate identified risks.
  • Maintain metrics on all aspects of the physical and protective services security program, and brief management on the same.
  • Oversee the daily security operations of the company to manage identified risk.
  • Collaborate closely with the firm's IT/Cyber leads, and contractors to ensure the security program addresses the convergence of physical and IT/Cyber threats.
  • Oversee selection, installation, management and monitoring of physical security measures such as access control systems, CCTV surveillance, intrusion detection, alarm systems, etc.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to implement and maintain cybersecurity measures, including data protection and network security.
  • Develop, together with the firm's legal counsel and Chief Information Officer policies related to data security, privacy and confidentiality.
  • Develop and update crisis management plans to address a range of potential emergencies, including natural disasters, cyberattacks, and workplace violence, including active threat/shooter.
  • Lead incident response efforts and provide guidance during crisis situations.
  • Oversee relationships with security service providers and vendors to ensure the quality and effectiveness of outsourced security services.
  • Manage security personnel, both internal and external, including training, daily management, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop and implement cohesive policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Conduct security awareness programs and training for employees to promote a culture of security awareness.
  • Provide guidance on how to respond to security incidents and promote a sense of preparedness among employees.
  • Stay current with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to security, and ensure the organization's compliance.
  • Develop and manage the security department's budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
  • Proactively identify, mitigate, and track recurring security issues.
  • Develop and oversee a comprehensive security strategy to protect company assets, determine priorities, and allocate resources based on risk, operational needs, and company policies.
  • Support the goals and objectives of the organization to maintain security, safety, and confidentiality.
  • Promote positive security culture, risk management, and security awareness.
  • Take every effort to foster a working environment that is welcoming to all, bias-free, and is in compliance with federal, state, local laws, and human resources' policies.
  • Maintain a close relationship and liaise with public safety agencies and emergency services to facilitate swift incident response.
  • Conduct internal investigations and dispositions of security matters.

Work Experience
Requirements:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in security services, criminal justice, law enforcement, or military disciplines.
  • Law enforcement/military experience required
  • Senior-security executive knowledge and experience of all corporate security management disciplines
  • 5+ years' proven experience in a private sector senior security executive role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Impeccable English writing skills at a senior executive level.
  • Ability to develop, write, and implement bespoke security policies and procedures
  • Extremely proficient in security risk assessment processes, procedures, and methodologies
  • Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal information security laws.
  • Keen knowledge of leading-edge security technologies, and the ability to train others.
  • Proven proficiency in developing physical and digital security protocols and procedures.
  • Demonstrated use of practical AI technologies in security practices.
  • Proven leadership, people management, and motivation skills
  • Exceptional executive, managerial, and administrative skills and the ability to lead a team.
  • Flexible, nimble, and comfortable in a demanding high-tempo environment, and the ability to be unperturbed, and to cheerfully thrive in the same.
  • Schedule is business-hour based but should include duty off-hours to monitor security performance of subordinate(s), and vendors, and to observe security conditions.
  • On-call, and the ability to respond to significant security needs/events after-hours.
  • Responsible for security management of firm "Special Events", both onsite and off-site, when necessary.
  • Expertise in Microsoft 365 Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word
  • Open to constructive criticism, and overall team requirements
  • Exceptional and proven collaboration successes.
  • Ability to research and constantly be current with security trends, as well as changing government and state laws.
  • In-Office role; based in New York, NY
  • Travel is not extensive, but is required periodically, and/or as event-driven.

Salary is commensurate with experience.
