Company Overview:

Applied Digital (APLD) is a U.S.-based leader in next-generation digital infrastructure, providing advanced solutions in High-Performance Computing (HPC) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). We support diverse markets through our Blockchain colocation services, HPC datacenter colocation services, and GPU cloud services. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Data Center Campus Security Manager to ensure the safety and security of our facilities, personnel and assets at our HPC campus under development in TBC.

Job Description:

The Data Center Campus Security Manager at Applied Digital will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive physical security programs to protect our datacenter campus and other critical infrastructure located in TBC. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, extensive experience in physical security, and the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive physical security strategy for all Applied Digital facilitieson theTBCcampus, ensuring alignment with companyobjectivesand industry best practices.
  • Establish both Construction Security Plans and Operational Security Plans covering theend-to-endlifecycle of the campus.
  • Establish andmaintainsecurity standards and protocolsfor theTBCcampus, ensuring compliance with relevantcompany policy,regulations,and industry standards.
  • With support from the Corporate Security Team and in conjunction with APLD Physical Security Standards, oversee the design, implementation, and management of physical security systems, including access control, surveillance, and intrusion detection.
  • During the Construction Phase, own the delivery of all security systems and associated devicesin accordance withReady for Service dates, on time and on budget.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability analyses toidentifyand mitigate potential security threats.
  • Develop andmaintainemergency response and crisis management plans, including coordination with local law enforcement and emergency services.
  • Lead Security response to incidents and emergency situationson campus.
  • Lead and manageinternal and external teamsof security professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and compliance with security policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, facilities management and legal, to ensure comprehensive security coverage and seamless integration of security measures.
  • Investigate security incidents and breaches,conductthoroughanalysesandimplementcorrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Develop and manage the security budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and investments.
  • Monitor and analyze security metrics, providing regular reports and recommendations to senior leadership.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of security operations experience in a corporate environment or government agency with mission-critical operations. Experience with data centers is preferred.
  • Self-motivated,results oriented, action driven.
  • Advanced knowledge of physical security operations,systemdesignandrisk management.
  • A bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university (preferred), or law enforcement experience, or a U.S. military background with an honorable discharge, or a combination of both educational and relevant, job-related work experience.
  • Customer focus and experience working with top Fortune 100 customers.
  • Experience with security systems and software platformsrequired, preferably including Lenel, Milestone, Axis Communications, etc.
  • Strong commitment to and understanding ofAPLDsecurity policies,rulesand procedures; ability to influence, help write and roll out future policies.
  • Must be computer literate andpossessintermediate to advanced-levelproficiencyin Microsoft Office (e.g.,Outlook, PowerPoint,Exceland Word).
  • Experience with business continuity and emergency response planning and coordinationwith internal teams and first responders is a plus.
  • Knowledge of qualityconceptsand continuous improvement tools, techniques, practices, etc.,is a plus.
  • Data center operationsexperience,managementexperiencerelated tolarge, multi-complex facilities and/or technology industry experiencearepreferred.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and drive a high-performing security team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teamsandwith absolute discretion and confidentiality when required.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards related to physical security.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP, CISSP).
  • Experience in the HPC/AI industry or similar high-security environments.
