Job description

The Part Time Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a visible and accessible presence in the common areas of the shopping center to ensure a safe, orderly and comfortable shopping environment for customers, visitors, merchants and shopping center employees. Part Time approximately 24 hours per week. 11pm-7am. Should be available to cover call outs and vacations.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Conducts regular, comprehensive patrols of the center in a highly visible mode, observing irregularities in operations or building conditions.
  • Attempts to deter/prevent criminal incidents in common areas and parking areas of the property.
  • Provides assistance to visitors, customers, merchants and mall employees.
  • Resolves safety hazards including, but not limited to the following:

Liquid Spills

Foreign Substances

  • Observes merchant operations like opening and closing times.
  • Acts as a guest service representative in providing information to all visitors, merchants and center employees.
  • Prepares accurate and legible written reports which reflect patrol efforts and observation.
  • Responds to different types of calls for service from customers, visitors, merchants or mall employees.
  • Escorts Mall employees if requested
  • Responds to Medical Emergencies
  • Discourages disruptive or disorderly conduct upon encountering such behavior among customers, visitors, merchants or mall employees.
  • Observes individuals committing criminal acts, request police assistance and maintains control of the situation until police arrive.
  • Operates fire and safety equipment.
  • Patrols parking lot to deter crime, endure customer safety, and address concerns.
