Job description

Description Are you a relationship-builder with a passion for business development, customer service, and community engagement. The City of Mason City is seeking a Southbridge Mall Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations and long-term success of the city-owned Southbridge Mall and movie theater. This leadership position plays a key role in creating a safe, welcoming, and vibrant destination for residents, visitors, businesses, and community events.

The Operations Manager is responsible for facility operations, tenant relations, marketing initiatives, financial oversight, theater operations, and strategic planning efforts that support occupancy, utilization, and growth. Duties & Responsibilities: Manage the day-to-day operations, maintenance, cleanliness, and security of Southbridge Mall facilities Supervise janitorial, maintenance, security, and theater concession staff Serve as the primary contact for current and prospective tenants, including leasing activities, property tours, tenant onboarding, and tenant support Coordinate tenant recruitment, retention, and business development efforts to maximize occupancy Manage budgets, operational expenses, invoices, revenue collections, utility monitoring, and financial records Oversee operations of the city-owned movie theater and coordinate with the nonprofit theater operator on scheduling and showings Assist with marketing campaigns, promotions, social media efforts, and community events designed to increase utilization of the mall, theater, and convention space Coordinate facility improvement projects, tenant improvement projects, and capital maintenance initiatives Build partnerships with local businesses, community organizations, and economic development stakeholders to support redevelopment and long-term success Minimum Qualifications: High school or GED Associates Degree or 60 hours of college level coursework from a recognized accredited institution with specialized course work in business, marketing, hospitality, facilities management, or a closely related field is required. Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Three years of experience in commercial property management, facilities management, convention center operations, hospitality management, retail management, or related fields. Equivalent education and experience. Why Mason City.
