Position Title: Maintenance Manager
Location: Racine, Wisconsin
Position Summary:

With multiple facilities across the greater Racine & Milwaukee area, this organization produces iconic baked goods at scale and delivers products wholesale, through retail storefronts, and via a rapidly growing e-commerce channel.
The right leader will step into a highly visible role with real impact, reporting directly to an operations leader who is transparent, direct, and refreshingly free of bureaucracy. This is a builder's role - the kind that doesn't come along often. You'll lead a team of technicians and you'll have the runway to create and own a maintenance program from the ground up, establishing KPIs, driving an operating system, and bringing stability and pride to a team that's eager for leadership. The equipment environment is straightforward - conveyors, mechanical, electrical, and pneumatics - so the emphasis here is on character and people skills as much as technical chops. Responsibilities:
  • Managing the site-wide maintenance function, including, packaging, process, mechanical, electrical, building maintenance and stationary engineering
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance regarding health & safety, and environmental standards
  • Working with external engineering & technical services partners as needed
  • Build the Maintenance team's technical & functional capabilities
  • Assume total responsibility for the Maintenance Department budget ensuring proper expenditures and accountability
  • Strategic development of the maintenance department to a best-in-class level
  • Focus on the development of the Maintenance team to continually improve maintenance strategies and equipment efficiencies.
  • Support teamwork and collaboration between Maintenance and other departments.
  • Actively participates in the daily production meeting as a key component of the operating team (as needed)
  • Procurement process (vendor selection, ordering, receiving) up to $10,000
  • Discipline - Safety and Regulatory protocol
  • Discipline - Non safety - Final Approvals
  • Delivering Performance Appraisals for direct reports as needed
  • Approve Hiring Decisions
  • Contract signing
  • Shutdown scheduling
Skills & Requirements
Required Qualifications:
  • Experienced in a Management capacity within a manufacturing/process environment with knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices as well as the concepts of Best in Class Maintenance and Process Control
  • Strong emphasis on developing team capabilities. Enjoys working with others and sees team work as a more productive environment. Will recognize others achievements and improvements as well as dealing with conflict effectively
  • The ability to communicate effectively at all levels through excellent active listening skills, communication and facilitation skills
  • High degree of computer & systems knowledge
  • Familiarity with 5S and Lean Practices
  • A builder and strong leader, committed to improving operating efficiencies through effective PM / PDM
  • An effective team player with a good sense of priorities, able to manage well under pressure with a proven track record in managing people
  • Experience managing budget, planning and strong communications skills
