Job description

We are looking for a talented Facility Operations & Maintenance Group Leader to join our team specializing in Facilities for our CDBS (Cummins Drivetrain and Braking Systems) location at Troy, MI.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  1. Operational Leadership, Team Engagement & Security Oversight
    Provides hands-on leadership to the maintenance team and onsite security staff, fostering a collaborative, practical, and solutions-oriented work environment that supports safe, secure, and reliable day-to-day operations.
  2. Maintenance Planning & Execution
    Oversees preventive and corrective maintenance activities, ensuring work is prioritized appropriately to minimize operational disruption while maintaining compliance with corporate standards.
  3. CMMS & Work Order Management
    Supports the continued rollout and stabilization of the site's CMMS, ensuring work orders, preventive maintenance tasks, and asset data are maintained accurately and used effectively to support maintenance decision-making.

Required Skills, Education, or Experience

  • Demonstrated experience supervising skilled trades in an operational facilities or manufacturing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of building systems and maintenance practices (mechanical, electrical, HVAC, life safety)
  • Ability to balance complex compliance requirements with practical, real-world operations
  • Proficiency with basic computer systems (email, spreadsheets, work order systems) and comfort working in a structured corporate environment

Preferred

  • Experience using a CMMS platform, preferablyIBM Maximo, including work orders, PMs, and asset data
  • Previous exposure to capital project coordination and large-scale facility improvements.

  • Clear, Practical Communication: The ability to translate technical, operational, and compliance information into clear guidance for diverse audiences-from skilled trades to leadership-ensuring alignment and smooth execution.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
College, university, or equivalent degree in Marketing, Sales, technical or a related subject or an acceptable combination of education and experience required. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Significant level of relevant work experience required, including previous customer and/or product experience required. Purchasing/commercial contract negotiation preferred.
