Description
Exeter High School is seeking a welcoming, organized, and customer-service-oriented professional to join our Main Office team. As the first point of contact for students, families, staff, and visitors, this individual plays an essential role in creating a safe, efficient, and positive school environment. Working under the supervision of the Principal, the Main Office Administrative Assistant manages the daily operations of the front office while providing exceptional service to students, families, staff, and community members. This position requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, professionalism, discretion, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift throughout the day.
Essential Functions
  • Serve as the primary receptionist for the Main Office, greeting visitors and creating a welcoming environment.
  • Monitor and manage the school's secure entrance, checking in visitors, issuing visitor badges, and following established security procedures.
  • Supervise student traffic entering and leaving the Main Office throughout the school day.
  • Answer and direct incoming telephone calls while providing accurate information to students, families, staff, and community members.
  • Receive, process, and distribute incoming mail, packages, and deliveries.
  • Maintain organized office files, records, and correspondence.
  • Assist students, caregivers, and staff by answering questions, resolving routine concerns, and directing inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
  • Prepare, copy, and distribute correspondence, reports, forms, and school communications.
  • Assist with maintaining calendars, scheduling meetings, and coordinating school activities as needed.
  • Support attendance, student records, and other office functions as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student and personnel information in accordance with district policies and applicable laws.
  • Assist with emergency procedures and communications when necessary.
  • Perform additional administrative and clerical duties to support the efficient operation of the school.
