Job description

Description:

Forum Communications Printing is expanding, and we're looking for a motivated sales professional to grow our commercial print, direct mail, and marketing solutions business throughout the Upper Midwest. This is a home-based territory sales role covering North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, offering the flexibility to work remotely while building meaningful client relationships across a defined geographic region.

While digital channels continue to evolve, direct mail and print remain some of the most effective tools for customer engagement, brand awareness, fundraising, and lead generation. Organizations across healthcare, financial services, higher education, retail, manufacturing, nonprofit, and government sectors continue to invest in strategic print and mailing programs that deliver measurable results.

As part of a fifth-generation, family-owned media and communications company, you'll represent a comprehensive portfolio of solutions backed by experienced production, customer service, and operational teams. You'll have the autonomy to manage your territory, while benefiting from the resources and reputation of an established organization.

What You'll Sell:

You'll help organizations develop and execute customized communication and marketing programs through solutions including:

  • Direct mail campaigns and personalized marketing
  • Variable data printing and targeted communications
  • Magazines, catalogs, books, and publications
  • Trade show and event materials
  • Brochures, inserts, and marketing collateral
  • Statements and transactional communications
  • Annual reports and corporate communications
  • Fulfillment and mailing services
  • Print and digital publication solutions

This is consultative, solution-based selling focused on helping clients achieve business objectives - not just selling print products.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and grow new business opportunities throughout an assigned Midwest territory, as well as maintain long-term client relationships built on trust and results
  • Prospect, network, and build relationships with decision-makers across multiple industries
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from initial outreach through proposal development and closing
  • Identify client challenges and recommend customized print and mailing solutions
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities
  • Collaborate with internal production, design, and customer service teams to ensure client success, delivering solutions that create measurable value
  • Be a trusted advisor for clients' print and mailing needs, staying informed on industry trends and emerging marketing technologies

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in B2B sales, outside sales, business development, or account management; experience selling commercial printing, direct mail, marketing services, advertising, media, promotional products, business services, or related solutions will make a candidate stand out, but is not required.
  • Demonstrated success prospecting, developing new business, and closing sales
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage a territory effectively in a remote environment
  • Residency within North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, or Wisconsin
  • Willingness to travel throughout the territory approximately 25–35%
  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record

Expected earning for this position range from $70,000 - $100,000+/year, through a combination of base salary and uncapped commission, depending on experience and performance. Top performers have the opportunity to significantly exceed the stated range through new business development and territory growth.

Why Us?

Forum Communications Printing is part of Forum Communications Company, a 5th-generation, family-owned media and technology organization serving the Upper Midwest for more than a century. While storytelling is our foundation, today we deliver far more - spanning print and digital news, sports streaming, broadcasting, agency services, technology, and commercial printing.

Forum Communications Company offers the following to all Full-Time and 32-Hour Benefited employees:

  • Health, dental, and vision packages
  • Paid maternity and parental leave
  • Company-paid short-term disability and life insurance
  • Additional options for critical illness, accident, and hospital indemnity coverage
  • Retirement benefits with company match
  • Generous PTO and paid volunteer hours

We are an equal employment opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law. FCC currently does not offer employer sponsorship.
