Job Description
The Production Mail Inserter Operator is a key role responsible for executing daily print production requirements in our 24/7 print operation. This position emphasizes consistent adherence to our Quality Management System to ensure high standards are met.
  • Operate High-Speed Inserting Equipment: Utilize advanced inserting machines, including those used in PB Presort operations and systems incorporating components such as belts, gears, and flow track systems, to manage high-volume mail production.
  • Adhere to Policies: Follow all facility policies, including health and safety, building security, data protection, and maintaining a harassment-free workplace.
  • Follow Procedures: Strictly adhere to Offsite Services procedures and work instructions.
  • Production Responsibility: Operator is responsible for achieving full production potential, with 100% mail count integrity, at their machine for each shift.
  • Communication: Maintain effective communication with team members and supervisors regarding production issues related to mailing material and equipment. Must read and understand job instructions to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Multi-Tasking: Manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong organizational skills. Collaborate with other operators as a team to achieve maximum production output.
  • Attendance: Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Technical Skills: Work efficiently in an email and Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Physical Requirements: Lift items weighing up to 50 pounds (or maximum allowed by state law), with or without accommodation.
  • Equipment Knowledge: Operate inserting equipment and complete closing procedures for PB Presort pick-up.
  • Pace and Precision: Work comfortably at a fast pace, adjust equipment, prioritize mail runs, and produce high-volume mail following instructions thoroughly.
  • Standing Requirements: Stand for extended periods (with or without accommodation) to operate and maintain elevated machinery.
  • Independence: Work with minimal to no supervision, adapting quickly to changing assignments.

Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Machinery Experience: Familiarity with operating and troubleshooting high-speed inserting equipment. Must be able to clear machine jams and make minor equipment adjustments as needed.
  • Mechanical Knowledge: Experience with belts, gears, and flow track systems. Monitor and adjust inserting machine at the start of your shift to ensure maximum performance. Perform quality checks on all output at workstation.
  • Operations: Operate and maintain efficiency goals at all times when running mail production machine.
  • Logistics Experience: Background in packing, warehouse operations, and shipping.
  • Learning and Adaptability: Eagerness to learn new skills and adapt to changing work environments.
  • Willingness to Work Overtime: Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
  • Work Area: Maintain machine operator work logs as instructed by management. Keep work area neat, clean, and organized.
